I've extracted all of the built-in mod compatibility from Tetra into a separate addon. This change should make it easier to do in-depth integrations with other mods while still keeping builds fast and stable for Tetra.

As a first step I've added some in-depth compat for Farmer's Delight. We've had a half working PR in the FD repo that needed some hacks to work for quite some time, but with a separate mod I can do all of the hacks without regrets.

FD knives can be converted to tetra items and retains all functionality

Ropes can be used for the starter belt instead of string so you no longer need spiders to get started

Added rope and canvas variants for most belt modules

Canvas works as a fabric, it's denser and less flexible than wool

Straw can be used as a fibre, it's ligher and more flexible compared to string

I'm looking into more elaborate compatibility for Nature's Aura and Twilight Forest as the next step for the compat addon. Tetra already has some compat with Nature's Aura and most of its tools can be converted into Tetra items, it would make the compat feel more complete if those tools were to keep their effects and abilities when converted into Tetra items. To be able to take items you find while exploring the Twilight Forest and improve them with Tetra is a strong fantasy to me, I did some work towards that back in 1.12 so it'll be great to get back into that. Both mods adds staffs/scepters with unique abilities, using those as focuses or some other module to add those abilities to a Tetra item could also be fun.

If you have other mods in mind that you think would make for some interesting Tetra compatibility then please let me know!

Originally, I had plans to add in-depth compatibility for a couple of mods before releasing Tetra for 1.20, alongside the compat mod and an alternate progression addon. But it has been two months since the first pre-release, I'll get some bugfixes in place and then it's time to wrap it up. Hoping to get that out sometime next week.

I'd love to see an addon that adds content to tetra specifically for one of the combat mods, instead of just making better combat or epic fight compatible with tetra. So modules, improvements and honing that makes use of the mechanics those mods add.

Yeah I second this, built in compat for Better Combat or even both of these would be awesome.

It'd be cool if the addon had inbuilt compatibility for Better Combat, or even better, Epic Fight. But Epic Fight is way WAY more in depth with how it works so that'd be a much bigger commitment than Better Combat would.
