You Patrons rule.
Added 2024-10-15 14:00:06 +0000 UTCWelp, since there's still over a hundred of you here... I guess I'll keep posting to Patreon...? At least until they kick me off, but from what I've seen they've only been kicking off people that do rapey shit. (Good riddence. Fuck rapey porn. Don't defend Rapey porn.)
So let's keep it going! But first, we're going to skip two weeks, as in you get page 20 on October 29th, NOT today. I pushed all the posts two weeks so I could post the Ep4 Dub! However, I couldn't push the patreon posts two weeks because Patreon has a limit to the size of movie you could attach to a post. That and I had given up hope in Patreon. (But I guess not anymore...? We'll see.) In the meantime, I've attached a trailer for the Dub. Not the real thing, but damnit did I put my heart and soul into it. Shout outs to @MacStarVA, @KassioppiaVA, SFX by @DrDabblur, @geministarsign1, @hoshinomeririri, @LeHornySFX3D, @Lewdksound, and Music by Zapsplat.com .
I'll continue to post pages to Patreon until they kick me off, or until the vast majority of you move to Subscribestar or Fansly (please do, it saves me headaches). Page 20 coming October 29th. There will no longer be any "$10 gets you the next 3 pages", there will no longer be any "$20 gets you every page as they come out" Not because I hate you, I think you're really great. It's just a real headache setting up all these scheduled posts. You want justification? Sure, I can't blame you for that. IF this doesn't interest you, feel free to skip to the last paragraph. But if you want the dirty details, its here. Let's go.
Let's uses the latest page as our example. When I finish page 24, I post it to Fansly immediately, for those in the holycron Keeper tier. But then I also have to send it to my Subscribestar. Fine, two posts, no biggy. Then I've got to schedule it ahead for however-long, so every time a Coven sister finishes their pages, they can scroll down one more post to see what the Keepers have access to. "Pages 22-24!! Sounds great, maybe it's time I became a keeper, so I can check out those sexy pages early." (Thank you Coven Sisters upgrading to Keepers! You're keeping Two Tweaks going!) So that chunk of weeks/months of posts are on average, three scheduled posts. But then when the clock rolls around to November 12th, page 24 gets into the Coven Sister rotation for the next six weeks. There's three posts to schedule there. Then finally on December 24th, page 24 drops for the Initiates. Another post. Then what I've been doing on Fansly is setting up a backlog of nine pages so when you hop over from social media and decide to be a full funding gladiator in the realm of Two Tweaks, you get access to the previous 9 pages in HD, the latest page, then for another $5 another 3 pages, then for another $10 on top of that, however many other pages I've been snapping out, on average around 3. So that's another 9 posts to schedule. Not to mention I add the page eventually to the Catch-Up comic in my Fansly comic store. Then of course I have to add the pages to my social media scheduled comic portfolio. (On Sundays and Thursdays I post pages from old comics on Twitter and Bluesky) So I feed page 24 into an xcel sheet a few times, write some cute quip about it, upload the image to a service I use, copy the code, post it correctly three-ish times, then hopefully I've done everything exactly correct and I can breath a breath of fresh air.
So if we're just counting Fansly alone, that's 21 posts, 16 of which are scheduled. And scheduling posts isn't a walk in the park. Every subscription service has their own version of a post scheduler. Getting the times right, the dates, using the correct versions of page 24 (there's an HD version for the subscribers, and a Low Res version for the socials) having the other pages lined up correctly around page 24, making sure THOSE pages are the right versions, racking my brain to see if there were any other criteria I'd forgotten and left out, then do that 16 times. And that's just for Fansly. If I'm setting up $10 and $20 tiers on Patreon, I go from scheduling one post on Patreon to scheduling 16. Add that to Fansly and I'm at 37, add that to Subscribestar, and now I'm at 53. That means whenever I finish a page, do I take that momentum and start working on the next page? Or do I take the next few hours to schedule 53 posts, draining myself of all energy and brain power to do anything else. Because I have to make 53 posts with finite explicit and exacting rules, one mistake and the whole thing gets shit up. And this is with the BENEFIT of pre-scheduling posts! This is the process when I use the programs that help make my life easier so I can just focus on making my comic! It's exhausting. And fuck-me-in-half when I realize the page I've posted 53 times needs to be edited and reuploaded... 53 times. Why spend a day doing all that shit when that day could be spent making another page? Or (Capitalism forbid) go for a walk in nature, make a delicious meal, read a book, play a game, watch a movie, experience life as we humans were meant to!! I'm glad I've been able to make money doing something I love, but monetizing my love sucks. This system sucks. Join a union. Vote. Protest. You deserve more in life than punching numbers so you boss gets richer. Anyways...
So Patreon will only act under the $5 Initiate rules: you get page 20 at the end of October, then you get the next page every two weeks. No bonus tiers, you want that, Fansly.com/VegaVersio is very excited to have you. Likewise, Subscribestar will only act under the $20 Holocron Keeper tier. I make a new page, I post it. No schedules. (Fansly charges 20%, Subscribestar 10%, Patreon around 10% but they may kick me out at any moment, we are all living on borrowed time.) So if you got big money, commissions, etc, please use subscribestar, I get the most out of it. Phew. Fuck. That's a lot. If you read through all of this, I'm glad this rant has not been in vein. How do I wrap this up?
Patreon is still alive, at least until they yeet me. See you on October 29th.
