This is one of the episodes we've been most excited to share with you in a long time π₯³ And while I must admit that while I think some of the drone shots are suuuper cool (thanks to all who also shared their shots, there were 3 different drones there including ours π) the camera simply does not do it justice to how crazy this whole thing actually was. Those of you who were able to attend can back me up in the comments at what a wild sight this was to see, and it also represented a huge milestone in all the progress we've been making. I really can't understate how satisfying this whole process has been, and the feeling of pride we get when we look at Delos 2.0 feels pretty dang special. And by the way as we mentioned in our last little post earlier today, we're back in Australia, and holyyyyy moly can't wait to film a little walkthrough and show you all the progress the guys made while we are gone π€― Unbelievable is not a strong enough word to describe it! Glue and screw bolt or whatever But that actually adds structure and strength to the flooring itself. I think you made the best choice anyway. Love the boat design just wish it had more room below. For 2 yes but a growing family?

Gee, I know everything went well but I was hanging on the edge of my seat during the whole process. 8 - \ At one moment I was thinking of one of those old time movies where the automobile completely falls apart while slowly driving along. LOL That couldn't happen to Delos 2.0, right? ! ? ! ? Hahaha I'm glad all went well but I sure wish this episode came out BEFORE the Annapolis Sailboat Show. I would have had so much more to talk about! LOL ( As if I didn't already have enough to talk about! : - D )

2024-10-18 16:26:22 +0000 UTCOur fab shop hired a crane to lift eight 27 ton, 4' x 14' x 130' long, riveted aluminum bulkheads onto a hopper barge for transport upriver to a lock & dam project. One of the crane's outriggers began sinking into the soil and he dropped the bulkhead. It sustained a little damage that we were able to fix. The marine surveyor inspecting the hopper barge was Kyle Smith, one of the grinders on Stars & Stripes with Dennis Conner when they won the America's Cup back from the Aussies. I recognized him from watching the AC live until 3:30am for a few weeks.
