What could make $10 more appealing?

And finally, let’s talk the $10 Superfan Tier!

Current Superfans get in addition to WIPs and an HD page: half off at the Gumroad and access to PSD files.

As I mentioned in a previous post, other than the first three Eps available on Gumroad, a Patron can get all the latest pages of a comic for as low as $5. Even at half-off, Ep5 would be $4.50. Why spend $14.50 when you could pay $5 and do a little digging through the Patreon feed? And if you WERE planning on buying all three of the first eps, you would probably use the half off discount then fall back to the $5 tier. So the “half off discount” incentive falls pretty flat.

To date no one has asked for a PSD file. So the PSD incentive also falls flat.

There are 35x $5 fans and 13x $10superfans. Not a bad ratio now that I’m looking at it! I’m sure a lot of you are more interested in supporting my work than getting the biggest bang for your buck, but if you are looking for a little bit more out of your $10, how would you feel about getting access to pages two weeks earlier? (Granted, I’m not yet convinced this is a great idea yet, let’s deconstruct this together.)

Galactic Ultimate $20 fans got acces to Page 8 on a July 13th. $5 Fans and $10 Superfans will see it on August 9th. The rest of the Socials will see it on November 8th. However, in order to incentivize $10 Superfans, what if they received the newest page TWO WEEKS earlier? The $5 Fans will continue to receive new pages every other week, that rhythm will go uninterrupted. In four days, in addition to page 7, Superfans will also get access to 8. Then two weeks later, Superfans will see page9, and $5 Fans will see pg8. I got the Ep3.5 pg1 finished early, so I’ll still have my four week backlog.

The real problem I’m having is if $5 Fans would feel cheated? Where they used to only have to wait four weeks for the newest page, now these paying subscribers would end up waiting SIX weeks! That being said, they are still receiving an uninterrupted pace of one page every other week.

I’d love to hear your thoughts, is anyone outraged by this, do you think it’s fair, as a Superfan would seeing a new page two weeks earlier even mean anything to you? Let me know what you think!
