Justice League (2017)

I think there was a bit of recency bias and Spiderman 3 was put back as the "worse" of the two on the following episode because of how much higher the expectations were at the time, and how utterly BAD it turned out being.

Mr. Samuel Scratch

I said on an early Cutscene video and I'll say it here: it's really cool you guys are talking about this in-terms of pro-wrestling rather than just giving it this shield of being 'high art' because it's THE CINEMA (and costs way more). And then you read stuff like Joss Whedon basically acting like a territories booker and that story with Ray Fisher that might as well have been the part from Bob Holly's book where Vince McMahon tells him, "You can't take time off for surgery, I'm putting you in the Battle of the Billionaires against Bobby Lashley!" and you realize it's all the same crapheads being crapheads! And for the record: "Superman Returns" got a bunch of crap at the time because they took the "American way" part out of Superman's schtick.

Mr. Samuel Scratch

Can we get some clarification about Morbius' position in the ranking? In the Morbius episode it was, at the time, the worst movie ever but now it's below Spiderman 3?

I hate and am ashamed to say that justice league is the first and only movie I have seen in imax.

LUKE: It actually wasn't our intention to just to comic book movies! I had a list of movies I wanted to do, but we found a bit of a niche in comic book movies and that helped us grow the series. Hopefully in the future!

Luke Owen

LUKE: Thank you! We did say it was around that area haha!

Luke Owen

LUKE: We've got some other Marvel movies we'd like to do. There's a bunch of the mid-2000 movies I'd love to do on this series.

Luke Owen

LUKE: Like we said, it's bad but above all it's boring. It's so template and paint by numbers it can't be the worse than the others. The others actually tried and failed, this didn't try and it shows.

Luke Owen

LUKE: I really appreciate this! Thank you.

Loving these videos but curious if you're going to dive into non superhero movies eventually? There are definitely some pretty bad films that don't involve capes!

I would love to see you guys do black adam, because I distinctly remember thinking while watching this movie how weird it was that the rock was no selling every single blow when he, of all people, should understand best how selling properly as a babyface makes people want to root for you

They are speaking icelandic not norweigan just fyi c:

Once you’ve finished superman you should do Black Adam and the Flash. Once you’ve done DC maybe go into Marvel do all the bad marvel movies ever made?

God this movie is just awful. The 1 thing I would say is Ray Fischer being so actively against boo ya is absolutely ridiculous. He says he doesn't want to be just an angry black man, but the fun catchphrase?? No we can't say that because also a racial issue? He was absolutely done dirty by the wheedon cut but c'mon now.

Despite Zack Snyder making really bad and divisive films to a lot of people, I cannot get on board with this being better than either of his two movies. Yeah, to you guys Batman and Superman were ruined and undeniably they were damaged in the eyes of mainstream DC fans for a long time, but just think of the damage this movie did to every character in it. Flash sucks in this film, genuinely is only there to tell horrible jokes, Cyborgs entire arc is stripped down to its barest core, Superman spouts the cringiest and most ill timed jokes ever, the only redeeming qualities of Batfleck from BVS are stripped away to try and make him this universes Tony Stark, Aquaman becomes an unbearably annoying asshole towards the team for no reason and Wonder Woman is just an exposition machine. Pile that with awful CGI, mistreatment of the cast and WB using Snyders daughters suicide as a way to oust him and get Whedon to so his vision and you have a disgusting and cynical film that will always be in my bottom 3 comic book movies of all time on principle alone

This review is the best advertisement for the new Superman movie I've seen yet

Also, the "I tried" sign appearing on-screen immediately after Whedon's credit made me audibly groan in the cinema

It's been a while since I watched the Snyder Cut, but I'm pretty sure the entire opening montage was a Whedon addition (even though it's clearly trying to be like Snyder's Watchmen montage). Weird.

It’s amazing the research Luke does for every one of these podcasts I hope he knows it doesn’t go unappreciated

I saw this in the theater but haven't watched since. From what I remember it was just meh. Khary Payton's "Booyah" in animation is awesome and classic for those of us of at a certain age. The fact that they, the executives, felt it need to be included is just so odd.

I never saw this film because at the time I was weirdly loyal to Zack Snyder's vision. I saved myself for the inevitable 4 hour long Snyder cut and might I say..... I cant be the only one who wanted to see the follow ups to that

Alfie Wright

Suicide Squad’s Joker was awful, it came across like they wanted to make him a pimp more than anything else

Jei Kuma

at 1:45:31 Oli’s face as he realizes had me actually in tears

Ethan

8 hour drive today and you guys post this 🙏 thank you

A new episode of Worst Movie Ever the day before my birthday? Booyah!

Nathan Lickliter

This movie is in service of nobody. I hate this paint by numbers movie. It's absolutely terrible. It was flawed from the beginning but see the vision through... I hate it, WE hate it as a people! This and disco are the only thing as a society when people went please get out. The final 15 minutes is where this should have started. "I believe in truth, I'm also a big fan of justice" from that point I check my hate for the movie and say this is what it should be. Ezra Miller is nails to a chalkboard me. He's 34 playing 20 like it's 2001 Spider-Man not good not good. Anyway can't wait to hear this review

Aaron Downey

Fun fact: I tricked my brother into seeing this at the cinema by telling him it was like watching a live-action version of an episode of the Justice League cartoon. When he confronted me I replied, "I didn't say it was a good episode of the cartoon!"

It’s time
