Man of steel is like your partner drove the wrong way home on the freeway for an hour and then it is discovered it is the wrong way. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is like then continuing to drive the wrong way for another 2 hours. Also with how unearned Superman’s Death is. If you didn’t know they are reenacting the comic, it come across as incredibly stupid. Wonder Woman who has super strength and is not harmed by kryptonite could of totally used it to kill Doomsday and then Superman is fine. Ditto Batman could of shot the Kryptonite Spear out of his Batplane line a harpoon. And shooting Jimmy Olsen in the face while Superman “eats a sandwich on the moon” and lets so many people get killed before only showing up to save Lois cause he doesn’t care about saving people. Fuck this movie!

Superman's "I sometimes feel like I'm living in a world made of CARDBOARD!" speech as he has lost all semblance of patience and just starts PUNCHING Darkseid reminded me: nah, the character CAN be cool and ass-kicky when the story's right.

While Man of Steel was mostly joyless and didn't follow any plot points of character development, it had some interesting scenes. Where as BVS, was just awful. Overly long, too dark (both in sense of themes and actual filming of the scenes), and in the end pointless because they tell you Superman will be back in the next film. So the whole film itself was a complete waste of time. Except to bring Wonder Woman and Batman together for the next film

So excited for the movie (I remember being as excited for this as I was for Age of Ultron the year prior), and then slowly yet surely, scene by scene, the excitement ebbed away and was replaced with just flat out disappointment. Watching this series so far has made me realise that the underlying, overarching story of Superman being the bad guy that Snyder was trying to tell completely passed me by when I first watched Man of Steel and BvS and that the nightmare scenes were just Batman's nightmares and the fear of it becoming a reality fuelled his disdain for Superman more. It was only when the Snyder cut of Justice League was released that I realised it wasn't just a dream and it was actually heading somewhere! I admit, Superman being the eventual villain is a compelling story, but if that was the aim, why didn't Snyder make compelling, exciting films that would make the audience want to see more rather than the dull, joyless dross that Man of Steel and BvS were?

Yeah there are worse films than BVS but because of what I hoped for, BVS is the worst.

It’s honestly miles worse than Man of Steel. I actually walked out with ten minutes to go when it first came out. I sat through most of it, hoping it would get better, but I just couldn’t be bothered anymore. I never even looked up how it ended until this review I had no idea.

Also I'm with Oli...BvS is a worse movie then MoS...Just the hype of seeing these 2 icons share the big screen for the first time, and this is the shit result...it was SO DISAPPOINTING...Man of Steel was just a bad Superman movie we've had those before...but this was PROOF that the DCEU would never be as entertaining as we hoped.

2025-06-26 21:13:44 +0000 UTCIn my first viewing of this movie at the theater, during the helipad scene with Lex and Supes, the screening was disrupted when the visuals stopped but the audio track continued. The issue took around 15 minutes for staff to correct during which I was furiously trying to convince my wife that even if they fixed the problem it wasn't worth staying for the rest of the film. I failed and had to watch the rest of this train wreck. I have definitely seen worse before and since, but right now, BvS deserves to be at the top of list.

There have also been reports saying that Snyder wanted that to be green lantern instead but Warner said no. If that’s true that means Zack snyder’s justice league is STILL not even his full directorial vision for that movie

The whole section covering the Martha scene had me in stitches. I look forward to your Superman review. As well as the Josstice League review. I would say Batman v Superman is worse, just on the basis that it’s BATMAN and SUPERMAN on screen for the first time ever and it’s somehow underwhelming and disappointing. Superman and Batman have been in bad films of their own, but for the first ever big film to feature the two of them to be bad, should be a crime against humanity.

I was in a terrible screen, with my head in my hands because they were beating these characters to death on screen in front of me. About an hour in I start to notice this man shifting a lot. I look back to see is this man about to attack or something. No he was whacking it, slapping his pud. Went to get someone who worked there because of your mans masterbation. They rang the guards stopped the movie had to wait 2 hours for them to be done. I turned asked can I have my money back because of everything that has happened. The manager went sorry we're closing up told me to leave and I just left, Sad. Bad story. Bad movie. Misunderstood the assignment here.
