Hello Everyone!
Venris Here!

Yes, we did it! High Elves and Dark Elves update is done and we release it this Friday April 23th on special STREAM HERE as always! Together with team we prepared summary of most important changes from the update:

Video Summary HERE

Changelog HERE

1. High Elves

New technology group dedicated to increasing the capabilities of characters.

Intrigue and its events reworked to be more rewarding.

Lorthern Skycutter, a new unit!

Rite readjustments!

Final reward of subfactions added to mortal empires campaign!
And much more!!

Teclis gets a new mechanic centered around the resource "Scholarly Tomes”  generated by Loremasters and new random events, it can be used on 4 new dilemmas and 28 new technologies to unlock special army abilities for Teclis and all Archmages. These abilities are essentially spells and thus interlinked with all winds of magic that High Elves can wield.

Alarielle gets a new mechanic centered around the resource "Gifts of Isha" generated from Power of Nature, Defender of Ulthuan and new technologies, it can be spent on “Blessings of Isha” upgrades for units.

Eltharion gets 12 new technologies which focuses on buffs against other factions and these cost "Wardens Supply" to research

Imrik gets a new resource "Blood of Caledor", this is generated by defeating Legendary Dragons, or picking certain choices from their encounters and it can be spent on 16 new technologies. These technologies have an additional reward in the form of followers and items.

Alith gets a new resource of "Soul Tokens" and generated from Rite of Morag Hei, it allows him to research 20 new technologies. He also gets a new unit, Shadow-striders!

Tyrion gets  3 new campaign skills.

Oh, you wanted more? Very well, he has 18 new technologies that are in two diverged paths, path of "Unity" and path of "Retribution" Retribution requires winning battles while Unity requires entertainment buildings and you can choose only one path per game. Finale technologies on these also double down as his final reward. He also gets the ability to upgrade most of his units to "Exalted" status, enabling them to stay competent much longer by giving them more utility and power

2. Dark Elves

Slave system rework involving reduction of the maximum cap, increase of base income and decline rate and much more!

Rite readjustments!

Technology! Rework of tons of existing ones in addition to new additions!
And much more!!

Malekith, in addition to unique skill readjustments gains a new resource “Witch King’s Tribute” which can be spent on the new “Glory to Malekith” panel. (you earn gold just from spending it!) Two of the tabs on this panel require both Naggarond and Malekith to be powerful, but in these tabs you can pick a path of either “Harmony” or “Destruction” that changes how you play your campaign drastically from the moment you pick one. Taking the Shrine of Asuryan also grants access to Shadowfire Guard and some High Elven units. Oh and just 40 new technologies that focus on elves and their lands.

Lokhir, in addition to getting Sea Dragons gains a new resource “Kraken’s Spoils” it can be gained from razing and raiding and it can be spent on new technologies and Lokhir’s black ark landmarks. Did I mention Lokhir now has his own black ark? And Creeping Dread now gains a cap from each tier 5 Black Ark!

Hellebron gets various adjustments to some unique skills here, Death Night there and a new Hellebronai Executioner unit right here! Death Nights also now generate a new resource “Sacrifice Blood” which can either be spent on 21 new technologies or be used to upgrade her faction's key units.

Morathi gets 24 new technologies, which require the new resource “Hedonism Worshippers” which is generated by having high chaos corruption in your lands and it can also be sacrificed on dilemmas and be used to upgrade one of her two new units, Pleasure Cultists. This new unit constantly evolves throughout the campaign and you choose how it does so! Her Supreme Sorceresses also gain 9 new campaign skills. Oh she can also recruit Daemonettes of Slaanesh.

Malus gets to throw the towel to Tzarkan much more often now thanks to the reworked Possession mechanic. He also has a new resource he can spend on 12 new technologies, and Tzarkan mission items now grant factionwide bonuses!

Rakarth! He has a big heart for animals, he is late to the party but he still gets some love in the form of reworked trait, campaign bonuses, unique skills and “Monster Trophies” a new resource that can be spent on 26 new technologies. 20 of which require you to capture capitals throughout the world, doing so grant bonuses to ALL monsters! Also, all monsters benefit from red skills now!

3. All the rest

Now besides all that, Empire, Bretonnia, Dwarfs and many more factions also received more love, in form of Decree &/ Authority adjustments and subfaction bonuses for Empire, Economy rework for Bretonnia and More subfaction bonuses for Dwarfs but we can’t possibly list them all here, so go read them in the changelog if you are enticed!

Comments

I'm only using SFO and the high res UI enhancement. I'm about to move to another campaign so I'll let you know if I see this again. Thanks Venris.

It means your campaign was broke from first turn. You need to check your mods.

Hey Venris and team, loving the new update. Quick question though that could be a bug. I’m playing an ME Beastmen campaign and I chose faction and army caps. I’m up to turn 28 and haven’t seen any point system come up yet for the army caps though.
