Discussion thread: Revolutionology episode is ready to hear!

**This episode is published and ready to hear wherever you get podcasts.**

Storming the Bastille. Facing off with tanks. Canceling a streaming subscription.

Y'ALL LIKE REVOLUTIONS?

We spoke with Dr. Jack Goldstone -- the world's foremost expert in revolutions and social change -- and covered as much as we could about why they happen, and how. (And yes there are protest tips.)

This one is a fascinating look at history, and our historical present. Also some tips on the overwhelm that social upset and change can cause. Let's chat about it below in the comments, shall we?

Thanks as always for listening and supporting this podcast. Literally could not do it without you.

Wow fascinating! I loved this one. If Americans want to see change in the political control, they should start a movement to dismantle the process of registering with a political party (unless they join that party as a fee-paying member). Having the vast majority of voters “independent” would stop organisations using electoral roles to stack appointed positions and stop gerrymandering.

This episode helped me a lot - I’ve been having existential angst for a while now wondering WTF is going on, and now I have context for it and am able to face it head on in order to know what we’re really facing and what to do about it. It paints a bleak picture, but it’s always better to face it knowing what you’re dealing with rather than constantly worrying about how much you’re worrying. This gave me the insight that 1. My worry is justified and 2. There is a path forward out of this. Whether we can forge that path forward will depend on a lot of things, but there is a path forward. Love to all of my fellow ologites in this little community Alie has built. My goal going forward from here is to try to build as much IRL community as possible - we desperately need it.
