Expansion Drive Inquiries

I was thinking of doing an expansion drive because I had a really neat idea, but then i realized I've never done one before and I should probably do a smaller one as practice. What kind of character should I do (like OC or media character?), and what should I do to them (weight gain, air inflation, blueberry, etc)? Feel free to comment with any ideas!
