Ahhhhhh love this explanation thank you!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ That makes so much sense. I think we still have trust issues and aren’t ready to start trusting Ming but looking at it the way you explained it makes sense.
We joked a lot about it and didn’t let ourselves get emotional but we did say in the after discussion that Ming was lowly starting to convince us LOL. He did a lot of horrible toxic things but the more you understand him the more you understand his actions, even without justifying for condoning them.

Ming doesn’t simp after Tong anymore after he married his sister. He is all about Joe grieving to the point he almost died himself but they don’t let you know that in the series. He latched on to the idea that Joe isn’t dead and that’s what has kept him going. In this episode when he found out that it was Joe all along that he fell for and not Tong it was really emotional I got a little teary. Up is doing a fantastic job making you feel sorry for the hated character Ming. Tong on the other hand feels that Ming doesn’t like him anymore but he needs him(mostly his money) to be his lovely bro and old Joe and now new Joe are getting in the way of that. Hence why Tong is so manipulative in trying to get Ming alone. Tong is well aware that Ming was in love with him so he basically used Ming and his sister because they are mega rich. Tong cares about money not either of the siblings.

So not to give Ming points or anything but Ming was on set as he had a role written in to be in the movie specifically because Joe was in it.
"If he says Woof..." the way I died! 🤣😂🤣
