He went to the dinner to purposely get Ming and Jim drunk so he could steal Jim’s phone to access Ming’s schedule to make sure he wouldn’t be at the apartment. Ming is in Singapore when Joe breaks in that’s why he goes that night because Joe knows by the phone that Ming won’t be there. Anyway he didn’t count on Sol going to the apartment. Ming goes there every night when he is in town he’s not with Tong by the way.
