I didn’t notice it on my previous watch of this show, but the scammer eating with his wife and daughter is a parallel to Yohan eating with Gaon and Elijah. Both perceived as a “monster”, both experiencing the warmth of home, except one is actually a monster.
And you’re absolutely right about Yohan knowing Gaon’s next move there. See, that was one of Yohan’s cars that Gaon was driving when he went to the scammer’s house. There’s absolutely no way that Yohan did not know Gaon left with that.
They both understand each other in a deeper level, Gaon is just refusing to see it because he does not want to be a “monster” like Yohan is, but he also said it in a previous episode, “that rage, even if no one else understands, I do.” That’s my problem with how Suhyeon and Professor Min treats Gaon. The moment they see Gaon’s less than angelic side, they want to suppress it (Suhyeon repeatedly telling Gaon to let her handle everything instead, Professor Min smashing Gaon’s motorcycle, etc), while Yohan is trying to teach Gaon how to channel all that rage, all that pain, into something productive. Sure, Yohan has his own agenda for doing that (one of which is because he admitted he wants Gaon to be on his side), but how is that any worse than Professor Min literally telling Gaon to spy on Yohan so they could “stop him”? Idk, this show just has me writing whole essays in my head, there’s so much to unpack haha.

Oooh I got a shoutout. And you’re using the nickname haha. By the way, I hope your allergies are better now! I also just wanted to say that it’s so much fun watching you and Luca react to this, especially now that you’re both on the same page on what you know and what you don’t know yet about the show.
