I think the whole League of Gentlemen cast are big fans of classic horror. There's always an element of the macabre in their work (except Benidorm... maybe) and this episode is just another opportunity for them to pay homage to the Hammer style, something that's especially evident in the poster.

2025-09-28 13:47:35 +0000 UTCI believe Riddle of the Sphinx and Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room are well-regarded from series 3 and 4 respectively. Dead Line went out live for Halloween 2018, so it might be a good one to get in for October.

You can interpret that way, certainly, or of course that there's no god at all and they'll all just twisted freaks. Who knows!? So Steve's not in this one, as you know. From this point on, they're both in all of them bar one.

I understand why 12 Days of Christine is next, because it was definitely the one that got the most attention at the time, but La Couchette and Cold Comfort were both very strong and probably what I'd personally recommend.
