Crimson High v0.42.1 Public Release

It is time for the next update!
There was a minor issue with some save file troubles, but that should be resolved. You may get a message telling you that your save file is slightly borked, but you can play as usual - just follow the on-screen instructions.
Should you get thrown back into the main menu (very unlikely) or otherwise be unable to load your save file, you can still access the new content by loading a slightly older save and skip through to the new content.
As far as I can tell, this is an isolated issue that shouldn't persist into future versions.
If the Mac version isn't working for you, and tells you something like "Crimson High can't be executed", try the following:
Try this terminal command to set the application to the executable:
sudo chmod -R +x /PathToYourInstallOf/CrimsonHigh.app/Contents/*
Then enter your admin password.
That should fix it.

Update-only (v0.41.x → v0.42.1): To use it, extract the contents of the update-only .zip file into your Crimson High folder and overwrite when prompted. If it doesn't ask to overwrite, you've funked up. If that is the case, please remain calm and ask your neighbors for help. Or me. That works, too.

- Added a new textbox with an opacity slider (in-game phone menu) to the Android version
- Improved accessibility by adding alternate text to most UI buttons so they can be read out loud by the self-voicing feature
- (Also added TTS substitutions for some words/names, so the self-voicing feature won't butcher them anymore, then found out that that feature is only available in later RenPy versions, so this is on hold for an update or two, until I've successfully updated CH's RenPy version)

Usually my updates work just fine, but for some reason, v0.42 has made tons of problems, starting as early as the alpha test. Going by the error you're getting, I wanna say the terminal command should be the solution, but seeing as it's not working.. well, obviously it isn't lol I'll look into it and see if I can find a solution :)

Your save files should stay in place as well. If you want to make super sure, you can grab them from your Android's data/vertigo. crimson. high folder and copy them into a different folder as a backup, but generally that's not necessary :)

Not that far yet (day 8-9 i think) Quick Questions, im on android, to updated, do i just run the new app and everything will update ? Will i lose my save file or should everything stay in place ? I guess I'll answer both to make sure lol Making an AVN in general pretty much came naturally after being a player myself for a while. I enjoyed playing and I felt like creating something of my own to fill the gap between what the games I was playing provided and what I was actually looking for. Basically, I figured I would make the kind of game I, as a player, would enjoy playing. As for CH's story.. well, I've always had a penchant for anything related to vampires, so that part came naturally as well. The part where Ren has to solve a murder in a school, on the other hand, was just something to kickstart everything. I thought about what reasons the MC could have to be in a school for adults, besides being a student/teacher/janitor himself. A detective investigating something at the school felt like the most interesting way to solve the issue. I hope that answers your question :)
