When I was talking about atsumus character before, I said he puts in the most effort to make sure his hitters have a good ball to hit, so if they can’t then they’re not matching up to his efforts. Hinata takes every set he can happily and tries his absolute best with it every time. Even with Kageyama messing up and tapping the ball down, Hinata recognizes that he did his best to get the ball to Hinata and so he puts his best effort and kicks the ball over. Atsumu is seeing someone who plays in the exact way Atsumu kind of idealizes and so he’s moved by that sentiment. I love how these characters are written so much.
