Okay this makes a lot of sense, I was just thinking maybe it was a different reason and Kirito lied about not having enough time because there was some dialogue of him saying he didn’t wanna leave yet but I might be misremembering

2024-02-20 17:04:28 +0000 UTCIf I remember correctly, by the time kirito killed the captain the timer already ran out (hence all the funky stuff in the sky.), he just went to the altar after to make sure that they left, but asuna being asuna stayed behind to be with kirito.
