Also in terms of the fall. Damage usually doesn't cause wounds to the kiznaivers it didn't happen to, and they were all incapacitated for surgery and thus assumed the pain was from the surgery.

I can say it gets more understandable with time (The explanation is some characters' backstories) and ep 6-8 are insane.
