Update #5

Hey,

This is coming pretty soon after the last one, but I've been doing some thinking about how I want this Zelda project to shake out. After mulling it over for a while, I think I'm going to drop the two video idea, and simply fold it all into the Breath of the Wild revisit.

The Breath of the Wild video is the one most in need of an addendum. I wasn't able to cover the DLC, and I have a radically different outlook on it now than I did at the time. Plus, it's hard for me to justify an entire video to the previous five 3D Zeldas. I couldn't figure out a good way to structure it, until I realized I could simply give my updated thoughts on them in the Breath of the Wild video.

My idea is thus: talk about how Breath of the Wild shook the conventions of Zelda. To do that, I'd first need to talk about what those conventions are (aka, talk about the other 3D Zeldas). From there, I could talk about how Breath of the Wild adopted, gutted, and evolved various elements that were common in the previous games. It would allow me to talk about what I loved and didn't love in the previous (classic) 3D Zelda games, while doing the same for Breath of the Wild. This would also lead into a potential Tears of the Kingdom video quite nicely.

tl;dr instead of making two separate videos to revisit the 3D Zelda games, I will be making a single video centered on Breath of the Wild which also allows me to talk about the other 5. I think the project will be better for it.

That said, it might take even longer because I haven't done a playthrough of Breath of the Wild yet. I'll be starting on that today, and hopefully I can knock out some of the script along the way.

Looking forward forward to the video you’re original Zelda retrospective series introduced me to you’re channel, I remember my recent BotW play through bolstering my excitement (and anxiety) for the sequel because there’s so much they can improve upon
