You Only Live Twice | BONUS SERIES - PREMIUM | Helene Skovsgaard for M! Magazine

The other day you had this new official series I did for M! Magazine - and today you're having the most epic BONUS series! πŸ₯³πŸ‘πŸ»

I've put in some additional behind the scenes-material

It's been a while since you've had a new series for M! Magazine, but that's all because they've been undergoing some inhouse changes - but are now back! πŸ€©πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
Back in January they send me to Jylland, Denmark to do brand new exclusive with the stunning Helene Skovsgaard, which you might recall from this beach shoot I did some years back. 😏 We even made a BONUS series which released here on Patreon for you guys. πŸ–οΈβ˜€οΈπŸ“ΈπŸ˜

But as said; we've teamed up again by request of M! Magazine - however, this time around we were indoor shooting at AHA Livestage in Fredericia. ☺️

Before we go into details on this particular series, I will like to announce a BONUS set will be released as well this time around, let's say.. next week? πŸ˜‰πŸ€πŸ”₯

NOW LET'S GET BEHIND THE SCENES...

Below I've made an example of what I mean by the importance of using the flash.
As you can see, there are three images; Top is how it looked without the flash, middle is the exact moment the flash gives it output & at bottom is the final result.
Now, don't get fooled by how over exposed it looks at the middle photo - that is simply because the camera which recorded the video where I snipped these stills from, couldn't handle exposing it correctly in such a short amount of time - but you still get the idea.

The final result is much more crisp and awesome to look at, because it's getting brighten up in a smooth beautiful way. The normal ambient light is a bit too dark in my opinion.

(Above; and illustration of the three different ways a photo can look, with or without the flash. Everything are stills from the behind the scenes-video which will release on a later point)

I had originally planned on using an Elinchrom RX600 flash with a 70x70 softbox attached on a tripod, and did bring it along, however we quickly switched concept upon arrival, since we wanted to be much more and dynamic.
Having a flash on a tripod locks you pretty much to staying at the same location for a longer amount of time - and we wanted to move around the whole place making full use of it.
As you can see below there's a .gif showing a moment where Helene is moving while I keep shooting. This ended up pretty much being our workaround and concept for the whole setup: Me using the Canon R5 with the GODOX V1 PRO mounted and just telling Helene to keep moving towards me, while I walked backwards around the club.. πŸ˜†

Luckily I didn't stumple upon chairs etc and it resulted in some great dynamic poses and photos I think. πŸ₯³πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

(A clip from the previously mentioned behind the scenes-video which will release soon. It gives a good insight to how we did most of the photos; by moving around the club using all angles, walls, chairs etc possible. I shot with the GODOX V1 PRO flash mounted on the camera giving us much more mobility)

I didn't knew the location we were given. I had never been there before and only knew that it was 'some sort of nightclub, but with a more jazzy vibe to it'. ☺️ Just as I got the info of it being a nightclub, I immediately knew it was gonna be pretty damn dark indoor - which obviously is a cool thing, since it's a club, you know - but for it to be used as a location for a photoshoot, it does require some additional light. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Therefore I talked with Helene about going the complete other direction than our last shoot on the beach where we only used natural light from the sun. I decided we should do photos with the GODOX V1 PRO flash mounted on the camera, this time around.
By doing so, we could make another 'vibe' to the photos, giving it a bit more up front and spontaneous feel. πŸ₯³πŸ€ŒπŸ»

(Above is a fine photo illustrating the problems with spots from the ceiling.. πŸ™ˆ That is by far the worst possible type of light, when on a photoshoot. One of the main reasons to why I suggested we went with the flash mounted on the camera)

(Above; A still from the lenghty behind the scenes-video which will release from this shoot, showing my settings on the flash. πŸ€“)

That's more or less what I had to tell you for now. 😁 Keep in mind a full BTS-video will release, a bonus series + some more goodies from this particular day.

Please feel free to ask away about whatever you want to know about this shoot! ☺️ Technical stuff, practical stuff, tips or tricks - or simply just let me know what you think. πŸ₯³πŸ™πŸ»
