Du Ska' Med | Aleksandra

Yeelllooooo everybodyyyy! πŸ₯³πŸ˜
It's once again time for "yet another beauty whom I paid a visit" (not that it's a bad thing at all, but some of you might got scared away by my latest post which featured....A MAN!!!! πŸ˜± Even in a style an technique I really personally liked πŸ˜‚) - so everything is back to normal now.. hehe.

Meet Aleksandra! 🀩🫢🏻

A fine lady from Copenhagen with polish roots, who contacted me to invite me by. ☺️ Her request was pretty similar to most of all the other beauties I meet; "Wouldn't it be a blast if you came by and we did some creative shizzle? πŸ˜πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ You know, I've never tried this sort of thing before. πŸ˜…" - and so we did!

Now let's get some behind the scenes insights..

So, first of all I brought along my trusty steeds; The NANLITE PAVOTUBE II 15X 2 LIGHT KIT (which includes 2x LED lights)as seen below and my backpack with the usual equipment such as the Canon R5 and Canon 24-70 mm f./2.8 L USM III lens. πŸ€“

(The package with the LED lights in it!)

Since I rarely know how the locations looks like upon arrival, I got to make sure I'm able to work propperly - and I do so by bringing along a few sets of lenses and this Nanlite package on most of my jobs. 😁

NOTE: When working in flats here in the dark winter periods of the year, you really have to make sure you don't crank up the White Balance / Kelvin on the LEDs for too much, since the photos will have a super super red-ish look to them. You don't want that!
You want to manually add that afterwards - or not having it at all. πŸ˜…β—οΈ

And it turned out to be a wise choice on this shoot.. πŸ˜…
Aleksandras otherwise wonderful appartment, was pretty dark because of the more-than-average-clouded-day, so I had to fight at ISO +500 all the day and make use of the LEDs. This meant that I had to compensate quite a lot with combining LED with natural light, as seen below.

(Above: A still from the BTS-video dropping later on, on which I've illustrated how I used a LED-light to brighten up her "dark side" since I only used the light coming in from the window. So to make sure the camera wouldn't burn out the light area closest to the window, I made use of a low powered LED-light on her "back")

Ironically, the sun came by for a few seconds on and off, and as seen below WHEN it finally shined through the darkness, it actually achieved a pretty decend level - and as you can see below, was able to create shadows on the wall behind Aleksandra. πŸ˜…πŸ‘€
We therefore had to work quickly and be ready to change the setup within a few seconds when the light came by.

Check out the still from the BTS-video below and notice how well lit she became only with the help of the sun and facing it directly. πŸ€©πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

(Above; another still from the BTS-video showing how well the light actually worked when it finally came by. At this setup she was facing directly towards the window, creating a smooth look on her front)

So even thou the weather wasn't exactly with us this day, we managed to get some super cool looking photos of her, which she instantly felt in love with! ☺️
In fact, she's one of the cool women who actually told me, that I should give a heads up when I post the photos because she would LOVE to hear your response to the results - since it's her first time trying this.

She's up for more so I should just contact her if you want us to do more of any kind. Let us know in a comment below. πŸ˜πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

As always: Please feel free to ask away about whatever you want to know about this shoot! ☺️ Technical stuff, practical stuff, tips or tricks - or simply just let me know what you think. πŸ₯³πŸ™πŸ»
