Beautiful Morning | + Lighten Diagram | Anne Lindfjeld

Once in a while, I do stuff just for the fun of it. 😁🤷🏻‍♂️
Like, there's no real demand, requirements or anything when doing these - it's just plain fun, because I want to hang out with people who over the years has become my real good friends. 🫶🏻

This photoshoot is a great example of such an event. ☺️

It can't come to anyones surprise that the fine lady is my good 'ol friend Anne Lindfjeld (which you've seen multiply times here on the channel - latest in some commercial stuff we did for a hotel in Copenhagen). 🤩🙌🏻

We've created this atmospheric and moody portrait series focusing on a 'wet look'! 🔥

Technical insights..

So, the setup was in fact pretty simple; A Canon R5 camera with a Canon 100 mm f./2.8 L USM Macro lens, two polyboards, an olive colored backdrop & one Elinchrom RX600 flash with an Octabox equipped. 🤓

Below is an overview of how the setup was. 👇🏻

When shooting dark stuff on a not-so-dark backdrop (which was totally on purpose by the way!), it's important to get some distance between the subject and the backdrop - to optimize the light lost when shooting (= creating a darker look!) 😅 Did that make any sense?
I used this colored Colorama Olive backdrop because we wanted to implement just elements of color into the final results. Going with a completely black backdrop wouldn't give us the specific look we were aiming for - so I achieved the look just by pulling Anne a bit further away from the backdrop. 👌🏻😏

(Notice that I used two polyboards; one to suck all the reflection on the models right side and one to bounce away the light and block it of shining on the backdrop 🤓)

Practically speaking of the wet look she achieved, that was all done with a combination of hair oil and some fancy shampoo, made for the only purpose of creating this moisturized look for the hair. I know nothing about this part, but please let us know if there's anything you will like to know about that part - then I will go ask Anne right away. 😅😂🫶🏻

We wanted to go the complete opposite way of this shoot we once did, outside on a super windy day. This time around we didn't want any wind OR dry hair like that last time. 😁
