Event: Presidential and Congressional Elections 2024
The Dominican Republic will hold presidential and congressional elections on Sunday, May 19, 2024. This could result in large crowds and/or protests, particularly near voting locations, and may disrupt traffic.
Β· Campaign closing caravans and demonstrations may continue until midnight on Thursday, May 16.
Β· The sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited 24 hours before voting, from 7:00 a.m. May 18th until 5:00 a.m. May 20th. Hotels in tourist areas are exempt.
Β· Electoral sites will be open for voting on Sunday May 19th from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
