I saw this movie on a Friday at noon. No one else was in the theater. I also went in blind as Jay recommended. Going in totally blind definitely elevated the experience, but it also made me realize very early on that there was going to be a twist. Overall, it was a well-acted and enjoyable movie.

Saw Strange Darling yesterday at noon! Only 6 other people in the theater. Everyone that was there was there to watch this movie. No stupid teens and no Rob Reiner’s eating cheeseburgers. It was a great movie experience. The movie was great. I find myself wanting to watch it again even though I know what happens. Go see it if you can people’s!!!

Love Mike's story about the Pacer. I have similar great memories of being loose in the boot part of my grandparents' Volvo estate with my cousins and their big dog 🙂. The 80s was a great time to be a child. It's annoying though that I can't see this film until 20 Sept here in the UK.

I just got back from the theater. It was a Monday 5:30pm showing, so I was the only one there- which was great for me- though probably not the film makers. I loved it! I’m glad I saw it in the theater- I don’t think it would have been as memorable had I watched it at home. I’m also happy I didn’t watch beyond the spoiler mark (and that Mike edited Jay before the spoiler mark). I agree with them about the 35mm announcement- they could have put that in the end credits- but it didn’t really bother me. I also enjoyed Mike’s and Jay’s thoughts post spoiler regarding the themes, characters, and performances.

We went, good movie. About 30 people in the theater, I bet there was a RLM bump! Guy behind us sitting by himself was chewing popcorn with his mouth open. We moved up to a different seat. If you're here reading this buddy, it's ok but just know you can chew with your lips shut.

If a RLM video comes out and they speak positively about a movie in the first five seconds, I shut it off and go see the movie. I only see at most five movies a year, and this system has been foolproof.

More than once, Jay mentions how we don’t know when this movie takes place, but…. it’s 2020. That’s made clear in the opening narration / title card. Otherwise, good episode! Hope folks see it at the movie theater.

The photo of Rich Evans cued to the keyword "serial killer" (that was the keyword, right?) made me a little more aware of the power of media. I am conditioned by years of watching RLM videos to see the trait "buffoon" and "that weird friend with the embarrassing laugh" and "incompetence" in his internet persona. I think he was introduced in the Flyin' Ryan episode of HitB, where he's seen laughing at Flyin' Ryan, and I think it's the same episode, where he pretends to not be able to drive a screw in some home depot shop light. So when I saw that photo my first thought was "haha, yeah, that Rich Evans, that photo doesn't match the keyword." But then I realized that if I didn't know the internet persona that's been build around Rich Evans, I would probably think "yeah, that Rich Evans, the way he looks at me in that photo, he might be dangerous." Just shows you how easily manipulable the human being is. Also, Jay's hair!
