Mad Max: Fury Road is one of the most exhilarating and simply one of the greatest action films of all time. So going into Furiosa I was really excited for it. While that excitement of the first film wasn't met, the style was there in spades. The two films look very similar and that style is beautiful to look at and takes this film where it wouldn't have gone otherwise.
While the film looks beautiful because the cinematography, it is quite boring because of the pacing of the screenplay. Scenes in this film seem to not know when to end. Dementus (Chris Hemsworth giving one of his best performances) will stop his dialogue and the scene should cut, instead it drags on for another pointless 1-2 minutes to show us nothing. The film could've easily been edited down to at least 2 hours.
While I thought Chris Hemsworth was fantastic, I didn't feel the same of Anya-Taylor Joy. She is a fantastic actor and she's just ok in this. Hemsworth clearly steals the film.
I never thought that this would live up to the greatness of Fury Road but my hope was that it would at least give a similar exciting experience. This is nothing like Fury Road other than the cinematography. So if you go into this film thinking that you'll be slightly disappointed. While I liked this film I couldn't help but be disappointed by the final result. Enjoy it for the style and a crazy Chris Hemsworth.

Oh they are SO going to bring back Mel Gibson as a future character, villain or otherwise. Maybe Mad Max's grandfather or something?

Yeah, pretty much. The thing I've noticed about all modern Lore development is that it's INSTANTLY cashed in. It's like if in one episode of a show they develop a piece of lore, they bring it back the *very next* episode. Like is there some doubt that villain was actually killed? You will NOT be left wondering. Next episode or next film he *immediately* reappears. There is no concept whatsoever of letting a piece of Lore 'cook' and develop a little gravitas before reintroducing it. Zero Anticipation. Adderall Lore Development.
(EDIT: Maybe it's the anti-"Lost" impulse?)

The way you describe lore, it's as though modern filmmakers think we've formed cargo cults around the original movies. "37 years ago we left them a severed finger. Ever since, they've been waiting and praying for us to return with whoever it was cut off of!"
At least it rewards those of us who bought the original Beetlejuice playset and have ashamedly hung on to that little plastic finger we didn't know what to do with.

"The idiom 'tip of the iceberg' basically means the small part of a much larger situation or problem that remains hidden. When only a part of something that can be easily observed, but not the rest of it, we say that the part is just the tip of the iceberg."

So...it's basically a modified tier list. These kids today. LEARN. METAPHORS. I dunno. My first thought was "from apex predator to prey," but then I realized those are literally the first and last (for now) titles in a huge movie franchise.
EDIT: OK, my metaphor doesn't quite make sense either. Whatever. At least you can only see part of an iceberg. I wasn't giving them enough credit and retract my previous tone toward the youth.

Essentially it’s a visual representation for items in a category from most known, the top, to the obscure, the bottom. Sometimes they go past the bottom of the iceberg, which doesn’t make sense. They’re nice to fall asleep to if you can handle a teenager doing the whole video in 1 take.

You said the kid died? That's a bummer, for a minute i thought this movie was gonna be a secret master blaster prequel. Like furiosa just traumatic brain injuries Hemsworth a ton in the final fight, leaves him for dead, then the kid turns him into blaster and rides Hemsworth off into the sunset
