The Great Bernard Hill Coincidence

So the day we posted our latest Best of the Worst actor Bernard Hill died. I was then told that his wife is Marianna Hill who played on of the daughters in The Baby (yes she was also in Star Trek). I feel bad that a grieving widow has a youtube video released on the same day her husband passes showing her having sex in a crib with an adult baby, but hey, that's Hollywood! Then I remembered that Brad Dourif from Interceptor Force was in LOTR as Wormtongue whispering lies into Bernard Hill's ear. Weird! So is there a Bernard Hill connection to Mr. No Legs? Maybe without IMDBing it? Did Bernard Hill once visit Florida? I'm sure he has sweated in a polyester suit before? Did he ever lay with a woman in a fur palace? Rance Howard's son also made a historical dramatic film about an ill-fated vessel? First one to make a connection wins nothing! You can IMDB it I guess cause I'm genuinely curious. - Krebs Gorlon

It’s funny but it also makes you think

I’d like to see Rich tackle and master MGSV if he hasn’t already. Ground zeroes plus the phantom pain. We need the deep dive analysis 🧐. You’re welcome to bring it on Rich, I’m building a new FOB from the ground up on PC now. You’re welcome to invade and steal as much as you can lol 😂

Stephen Talley

Bernard Hill is an absolute legend. Unfortunate timing but your team’s predictions are out of this world. Lots of respect for what you all are doing. Also Brad might have to calm down on that whispering in the ear stuff. Man plays some absolute serial people. I’m kidding about Brad though because I can’t think of anyone who can do that stuff better than him

You ‘Pricks actually read this crap? Ohmygob

Roger Corman passed away. We lost a b-movie legend.

I think they’re either looking it up, making it up (too tired to check) or pure geniuses who remember everything they care about, like us ;).

THE_GnomeChomskee

Nah. Hades II is in early access now. All other games are now irrelevant. ;)

THE_GnomeChomskee

the curse of the worst strikes again!

BTW, what I was going to ask is if Rich has played HellDivers 2 (I'm sure he has) and if so what he thought about it compared to 1 which I know he liked and if he had any thoughts on the whole PSN account needed thing. It would be cool to see like a 5 minute vid about it, I don't know if he has any more interest in game vids after they ended prev rec.

I tried to go there. I don't think users can start chats there, just creators, unless you do a direct message, which is not what i was looking for.

Are you sure about that? Isn’t that what the Community section is for? The help page makes it sound like it still works…

Matthew Murray

Bummer!

BoB3k

Patreon removed that entirely; it's not just our account.

Red Letter Media

OT-- Wasn't there another part of the RLM patreon page were top tier pledgers could post their own Qs and respond and RLM would sometimes respond as well? Is that gone now?

HOW DO YOU PEOPLE KNOW THESE THINGS

Neil Peart, Lord of Drums

This is, indeed, Hollywood! Don't take the role, if you can't pay the toll.

Thomas Branch

Now he's gonna sink this bitch in Heaven.

Andrea Johnson

You make a convincing argument. Criticism cheerfully withdrawn.

Sam Garland

I don't know if you meant to capitalize "sir," but I would like to note that Krebs's knighthood was revoked upon the discovery of his having stolen a piece of gold-pressed latinum that belonged to the late Grand Nagus Smeet from the Ferengi Museum of Commerce. The Ferengi Alliance -- the original conferrer of his knighthood for his admirable and efficient greed -- issued the first warrant for his arrest in the entire universe. As of now, he has warrants from at least eight different governments/federations/alliances/empires beyond the Ferengi and The Federation. The Tamarians have been putting out new warrants for years, but they only ever say shit like "Kashido at Pardafar, his hands clasped" so nobody pays attention because they have no idea what the fuck those Tamarians are talking about. The Breen are especially pissed at him, but they won't tell anyone why.

Neil Peart, Lord of Drums

Fuckin hell the end of this nearly devolves into one of my crazier posts, but without going entirely out of its subject's context :) It's like Mike's Star Trek obsession crossed with Jay's frighteningly encyclopedic knowledge of even the most tangential-related movie facts and my brain's devolution into increasingly strange questions. I think I'm having an existential crisis. Which I guess makes sense to a degree because I am the ghost of the greatest drummer ever

Neil Peart, Lord of Drums

here’s a weird connection I noticed: Rance Howard was in Mr. No Legs. Interceptor Force was directed by Philip J Roth, who also directed Digital Man, which has Rance’s son, Clint Howard, in it. none of this matters, but I felt like sharing.

Robert Sager

Not only that. Browning was co creator of Flipper along with Jack Cowden who wrote the script to Mr. No Legs. Many of the actors and technical crew worked on both the Flipper movie and Television Show.

Benjamin Smith

Ricou Browning, aka "The Gill Man" in THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON movies, directed this? Well, that explains why the production looks so amateurish except when we cut to the stunt scenes, which punch well above their weight. It also explains the stacked cast of Hollywood veterans in a movie that normally would have one name actor in an extended cameo to show up on the box art surrounded by a bunch of unknowns.

Timothy Liebe

You disgust me, sir…

Sam Garland

It seems to me that RLM is killing actors with embarrassment. What a great and terrible power. What a responsibility…

THE_GnomeChomskee

Hail the victorious dead!

Brent Daniels

This is a stretch but Philip Stone, who played Theoden in The Lord of the Rings from 1978, appeared in Thunderball which also featured underwater photography by Ricou Browning (the director of Mr. No Legs).

Benjamin Smith

the writer of Mr. No Legs wrote the original Flipper which was later made into the classic Elijah Wood film.

Malissa

The Curse of the Worst has sprouted a new nasty tentacle?

Andre K

I thought it was the same guy, too, and it was only because I googled the answer first that I realized Jay was incorrect, otherwise I would have just gone on thinking they were the same guy. Jay was absolutely correct thinking they were the same actor.

Joe Goes Over

Nah, Jason X pre dates that

Joe Relihan

Carry on, Krebs.

Dendo Star

I thought it was O Brother, where art thou?

Krist Norsworthy

I just assumed that any Brad Dourif talk was edited because how do you not mention LOTR, Deadwood, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, etc. when bringing him up? Jay let us down by not nerding out with all of those obscure facts, like being in some of the biggest movies ever made. He's getting old.

Krist Norsworthy

If you peruse the “more like this” section in IMDB’s “Mr. No Legs” entry, you will see a potential treasure trove of future BOTW installments.

Shozbot

By the way that was not Olivier Gruner in Interceptors. but Daniel Bernhardt. Olivier Gruner is in some Albert Pyun cyborg movies (Nemesis being his most famous movie). Bernhardt is in the John Wick and Matrix movies, amongst many other things. They both kind of look like actual cyborgs, so the confusion is understandable.

Jan van den Hemel

Thank you, Krebs! Marianna Hill spoke "I will speak daggers to him, but use none," then she mindfucked Captain Kirk until he agreed to marry her. The Enterprise didn't like that development and killed Marianna Hill. So I'm understandably slightly confused that Marianna Hill is still alive? Oh, Krebs, what have you done.

Marvin Falz

The chicken bones foretold this...

The Shoe

Ron Howard directed Apollo Creed 13. The movie about boxing in space. Incidently the first movie to digitally color grade in post production.

Joe Relihan

IT'S THE CURSE OF THE WOOOOOOORST
