2024-08-10 20:07:32 +0000 UTCIve got an 8 yr old boy and 4 yr old girl. My advice is to make a point to say to them every single day, "I love you, I am proud of you". My dad did this my whole life, still to this day.. Just knowing that I carry around his love with me even in my darkest, lowest moments, I never doubted that I was loved and wanted. Everybody else in this world could hurt me, disappoint me, break my heart..but at the end of the day every night I laid my head on my pillow, I knew someone on this earth loved me for being me and was proud of me. His daily ritual has literally saved my life, and I do the same with my kids now. I hope I have the same impression on them as my dad did to me. I live and breath for my children, but they are exhausting and leave me second guessing everhthing I'm doing the majority of the time. Your kid is already so lucky because it has parents that are choosing to be the best versions of themselves every day. I love talking about my kids and the funny stuff they do lol kids are weird, man. ๐
