OP11 Day 1 Meta Preview: A Glimpse Into the New Format

With the launch of OP11, the ranked ladder is already shifting as players begin testing new strategies and leaders introduced in this set. The sim updated just a week into the new meta, so we weren’t able to capture a full week of data—but this report offers an early snapshot of how the meta is beginning to take shape.

Keep in mind that this preview is based on just one day of ranked data. While it's far from a complete picture, it should serve as a helpful starting point for players looking to understand current trends and build their first OP11 decklists. Expect the meta to continue evolving rapidly in the coming weeks as more data rolls in and players refine their strategies.

Early Observations

For this OP11 preview, we're shifting away from our usual deck-by-deck analysis to highlight the broader trends emerging from the Day 1 ranked ladder. With several new starter decks entering the format, the Western meta is already developing in a very different direction from what we saw in the East—ushering in a wave of fresh strategies and adaptations.

One of the most immediate takeaways is the strong presence of Purple Luffy decks across multiple variants. Whether paired with blue or built around other combinations, Luffy leaders that include purple remain a dominant force, with four different Purple Luffy decks landing in the top 10 on Day 1. That said, the community isn’t sitting back—many players are clearly targeting these builds, and the tools introduced in OP11 are giving other decks new ways to fight back.

At the same time, new faces are stepping into the spotlight. Early performances from Buggy and Green/Yellow Law suggest they have real competitive potential, not just novelty value. Both are already carving out space in the emerging meta and could continue to rise as players refine their lists.

It's still early days, and things will shift quickly as the meta settles. But for now, these initial trends offer a useful glimpse into what’s working—and where the format might be headed.

Conclusion

OP11 has only just begun, but even from one day of ranked data, it’s clear the meta is heading in an exciting new direction. The introduction of fresh leaders and starter decks has already shaken up the format, leading to a mix of returning powerhouses and promising newcomers vying for dominance.

While it's too early to make definitive claims, the trends we’re seeing offer valuable insight into the shape of the early meta. Whether you’re looking to refine a top-tier strategy or explore something new, the decklists and observations in this report should help you get started.

As always, we’ll continue tracking developments closely and provide deeper analysis as more data becomes available. Stay tuned—this is just the beginning of OP11.

Decklists

We know many players have been eagerly waiting to see what early decklists are rising to the top. In the following section, we’ve compiled a selection of the highest-performing decks from Day 1 of the sim update. These lists reflect what’s been working best right out of the gate and can give you a solid foundation as you begin testing in the new OP11 format.

That said, these are still very early builds. As the meta continues to evolve and players adapt to new threats and tools, expect significant changes in card choices and tech options. Still, these initial lists offer valuable insight into the strategies that are finding success—and they serve as a strong starting point for building and refining your own decks in the weeks to come.
