OP10 Weekly Meta Snapshot: Shaping the Post-Ban Battlefield

The OP10 format is settling into a defined rhythm as the community adjusts to the post-ban landscape. Thanks to early results from OPBounty and online events, we’re seeing clearer patterns in performance, pilot preferences, and deckbuilding directions. While the meta remains fluid, the major contenders are beginning to emerge, and some surprising developments are reshaping expectations.

This week’s report covers the leaders who are excelling, adapting, or quietly building momentum behind the scenes.

Doflamingo – Resilient and Refined

Despite the recent bans—most notably Jinbe—Doflamingo is proving its staying power. Its engine-centric, synergy-driven control gameplan remains intact, and the deck has rebounded to the top of the rankings this week. Players have clearly figured out how to optimize it in the current field, especially with 4-cost Law continuing to be a key counter to aggressive decks. Doflamingo’s favorable matchup into Blackbeard further cements it as a top-tier contender.

Purple Luffy – Consistent and Meta-Proof

Purple Luffy continues to deliver reliable results with explosive mid-game turns, strong tempo tools, and a remarkably stable core list. Its simplicity and high-impact plays make it a go-to pick for both veterans and newer players alike. A few tech adjustments have helped it weather early aggression, but overall, the deck remains largely untouched—because it simply doesn’t need fixing.

Shanks – Flexibility Meets Power

Shanks is on the rise, showing off its adaptability across several archetypes. Whether running aggressive builds or control hybrids, Shanks’ toolkit allows pilots to mold the list to their preferred tempo. Its growing popularity speaks to both its strength and the creativity it enables. While a “best” version hasn’t been solidified yet, the leader is undeniably earning its place in the format.

Blackbeard (Teach) – Control Core with a Tech Twist

Blackbeard has surged in play rate this week, capitalizing on value tools like Kuzan and Liberation to create a crushing mid-to-late game. However, the deck is under pressure from the rising tide of aggro—particularly Zoro—and is actively evolving to keep pace. Updated early-game tech has helped stabilize these matchups, keeping Teach in strong contention with the right tuning.

Zoro – Aggro Reigns Supreme

Zoro remains one of the most threatening decks in OP10. Its unmatched speed and relentless pressure make it a nightmare for decks that need time to set up. Even with more players teching against aggro, Zoro has maintained its dominant win rate and continues to punish slow or greedy builds. It’s not just an early favorite anymore—it’s a meta mainstay.

Rob Lucci – Tactical and Underrated

Rob Lucci is carving out space for pilots who thrive on precision and tight lines. While bans have taken away some of its former tools, inventive deckbuilding and strong fundamentals are keeping Lucci in the picture. It may not have the same flash as some top contenders, but it rewards experience and punishes sloppy play—making it a dark horse pick for skilled players.

Bonney – Solid, Stable, and Skilled

Bonney continues to show up with reliable results, offering strong value engines, flexible sequencing, and powerful mid-game transitions. It’s not always the flashiest deck in the room, but its ceiling is high in the hands of a capable pilot. Bonney’s core strategy remains highly effective in the current landscape, making it one of the most consistent choices available.

G/P Lim – Gaining Ground Through Optimization

Lim is starting to gain traction as a legitimate ladder and tournament pick. With refined early-game sequencing and a growing understanding of optimal build paths, the deck is steadily climbing. Its ability to pivot between aggression and value makes it appealing for players who enjoy adaptive strategies. With more reps and refinement, Lim has breakout potential.

Red/Purple Luffy – The Explosive Wild Card

Red/Purple Luffy continues to thrive in the hands of players willing to embrace its chaotic, high-ceiling nature. This week, improved consistency through list refinement has helped pilots push its performance higher. Its ability to toggle between fast-paced offense and calculated control makes it one of the most unpredictable—and dangerous—decks in the meta.

Yellow Kid – Living Up to the Hype

After several weeks of play, Yellow Kid is beginning to back up the buzz. Smart sequencing and strong resource management make the leader feel rewarding to pilot, and builds are becoming increasingly refined. With a growing win rate and versatile matchup spread, Yellow Kid is poised to challenge the top control decks—if its momentum continues.

Conclusion: The Meta Finds Its Rhythm

With the initial shock of the bans behind us, OP10 is settling into a more structured metagame. Doflamingo and Purple Luffy continue to set the pace, while Shanks, Blackbeard, and Zoro are forcing constant adaptations. Meanwhile, decks like Lim, Lucci, and Yellow Kid are proving there's still room for innovation and breakout performances.

The format is maturing, but far from solved. Tech choices, pilot skill, and matchup understanding are separating good decks from great finishes. With regionals and locals heating up, next week could bring even more surprises—and perhaps the next big meta shift.

Here’s how we evaluated each leader:

Step 1: Game Percentage Ranking (Popularity)
Leaders are ranked based on their presence in the meta, measured by the number of games they’ve been played. The most-played leader scores a perfect 100%, while the least-played receives 0%. This step highlights which decks players are gravitating toward, even if they’re not necessarily dominating.

Step 2: Win Rate Ranking (Performance)
Next, we ranked leaders based on their win rates. The highest-performing leader scores 100%, with all other leaders scaled relative to this benchmark. This step focuses on raw efficiency and success, rewarding decks that consistently secure victories.

Step 3: Ideal Leader Comparison
This step imagines the “perfect” leader: one that combines the highest win rate with the most games played. Each leader is measured against this ideal, balancing performance with popularity. A deck that’s widely played but underperforms—or one that excels in a smaller sample size—falls short of the perfect leader.

Step 4: Score Calculation
Finally, we distill these comparisons into a simple, intuitive scoring system from 0 to 10. Leaders closer to the “100/100” ideal earn higher scores, giving a clearer picture of their overall strength in the current meta.

By leveraging this enhanced approach, we’ve painted a more nuanced picture of the OP09 metagame. As we move forward, these insights should provide valuable guidance for those still engaging with the meta. Let’s dive into this week’s rankings!

Hey guys, thanks for the weekly update. I really love it and this whole ranking helps me so much :) I have a suggestion if you guys are open to it. Would it be possible to also have the date from ranking? Or perhaps only the week. Something like „OP10 Week 4 Power Rankings“
