Introduction
With the transition to OP10, we opted to swap to the new format early on OPBounty, giving players a head start in testing and refining their decks ahead of the official release. This has given us a valuable look at the initial meta landscape, highlighting what decks are showing promise and what strategies are gaining traction.
As with any new set, the meta is far from settled. Players are still experimenting with tech choices, refining their game plans, and adapting to the fresh threats and tools introduced in OP-10. This pre-meta report serves as a baseline snapshot of what’s performing well so far, what decks have early momentum, and what archetypes may rise or fall as the format stabilizes.
Expect shifts in deckbuilding, refinement of strategies, and counterplay adaptations as the community gains more experience. For now, let’s dive into the early standouts and potential frontrunners shaping OP-10’s competitive scene.
Blue Doflamingo: Still the King of OP10
Blue Doflamingo continues to dominate the OP-10 meta, proving once again why it sets the gold standard for aggression, control, and sustainability. Its ability to dictate the tempo while disrupting opponents' key plays makes it a relentless force in competitive play. The deck’s draw power keeps resources flowing, ensuring it rarely runs out of options, while its board presence applies constant pressure, making it difficult for opponents to stabilize.
Unless the upcoming banlist shakes things up, we fully expect Doflamingo’s reign to continue. For now, those looking to challenge the deck will need airtight execution and innovative counterplay—because until something changes, the king isn’t going anywhere.

Shanks: The Titan
Red Shanks remains a formidable presence in OP-10, rewarding patient players with explosive plays. Players who can weather the early pressure and time their attacks correctly will find Shanks to be one of the most rewarding decks in the format.
Shanks is likely placing a bit higher than expected right now, as many players feel comfortable piloting it against Doflamingo, one of the format’s biggest threats. The deck has also benefited from a few key new cards, further solidifying its position. Shanks should comfortably remain in the Top 10 as the meta continues to evolve.

Zoro: A Surprise Return to the Top 10
Zoro makes a surprising but well-earned return to the Top 10 in OP-10, proving that aggressive strategies still have a place in the evolving meta. While many may not have expected its resurgence, the data shows that Zoro can be a viable aggro contender, capitalizing on early pressure and explosive turns to secure wins.
Much like how Belo Betty found early success in OP-09, Zoro fills a similar role as a tempo-based deck that can punish slower strategies before they stabilize. As players continue refining their lists and adjusting to the OP-10 landscape, we’re eager to see how Zoro evolves and whether it can maintain its position among the format’s top contenders.

Bonney: A Consistent Top 10 Contender
Bonney maintains its spot in the Top 10 for OP-10, continuing its streak as a reliable and rewarding deck for skilled pilots. As seen in previous sets, Bonney’s strength lies in its consistency, rewarding those who have put in the time to master its play patterns and decision-making.
With the release of OP-10, we’re eager to see how Bonney adapts to the shifting meta and how players incorporate new tech options into their lists. While its place in the upper tiers of competition remains solid, its trajectory will largely depend on how well it adjusts to new threats and opportunities in the evolving format.

Purple Luffy: The Unstoppable Juggernaut
Purple Luffy remains one of the most explosive decks in OP-10, continuing to apply relentless pressure with devastating offensive power. Its ability to swing momentum in an instant makes it a constant threat, forcing opponents onto the defensive from the mid-game onward.
The addition of Gum-Gum Giant has only further cemented its strength, providing increased board presence and massive damage potential. For players who excel at high-stakes decision-making and aggressive, tempo-driven playstyles, Purple Luffy remains a top-tier choice—and a nightmare for anyone unprepared to face it.

Blackbeard (Teach): A Rising Power in OP10
Blackbeard is poised to climb the ranks in OP-10, bolstered by powerful new additions like Kuzan and the new Liberation. These upgrades enhance its already potent control game, allowing it to methodically dismantle opponents while maintaining a strong board presence.
With its leader ability offering deep strategic flexibility, Blackbeard rewards players who plan ahead and execute with precision. While it still struggles against the raw speed of Doflamingo, it thrives in slower, methodical matchups where patience and calculated decision-making shine.
As players gain more experience with its intricate playstyle, we fully expect Blackbeard to emerge as a top-tier contender. For those willing to master its complexity, it delivers some of the most satisfying and rewarding gameplay in OP-10.

R/G Smoker: A New Contender Making Waves
R/G Smoker has burst onto the scene in OP-10, immediately making a statement as a powerful and versatile new leader. With access to an impressive pool of strong cards, the deck has already shown great potential, combining aggression and control to pressure opponents from multiple angles.
As players refine their decklists and optimize their playstyles, we’re eager to see how R/G Smoker cements its place in the meta. While it's still in the early stages of development, this deck has all the makings of a serious contender in the OP-10 format.

U/B Usopp: A Highly Anticipated Meta Contender
One of the most hyped decks of OP-10, U/B Usopp has finally arrived in the Western meta after making a strong impact in Asian tournaments. Combining two of the most powerful colors in the game, this deck creates a cohesive and well-rounded playstyle that blends efficient removal with strong card advantage.
For players who enjoy controlling the game while maintaining steady pressure, U/B Usopp offers a strategic and rewarding experience. Given its early success and proven strength, we anticipate this deck to hold a high position in the meta as OP-10 continues to develop.

Black/Yellow Luffy: The Adaptive Powerhouse
Black/Yellow Luffy holds strong in OP-10, proving itself as a reliable and versatile contender. Rather than relying on sheer brute force, this deck thrives on smart sequencing, flexible decision-making, and adaptability, allowing it to navigate a wide range of matchups effectively.
Its well-rounded playstyle ensures strong performance across the board, making it a consistent meta presence. While it may not always be the flashiest deck, its steady results and strategic depth solidify it as a serious contender in OP-10.

Yellow Kid: A Promising New Contender
Yellow Kid, one of the most highly anticipated leaders from OP-10, is already showing strong potential in the early meta rankings. With a unique leader ability that sets it apart from other yellow decks, it introduces a fresh playstyle that rewards strategic play and adaptability.
Boasting a solid matchup spread, Yellow Kid is shaping up to be a frequent presence in the Top 10. As players refine their lists and optimize their strategies, we expect this deck to continue making waves in the competitive scene.
*Please note that P-088 Law is not release yet in North America (and is included in most of the current lists so far)

Conclusion: The OP10 Meta Takes Shape
With OP-10 now in full swing, we’re beginning to see the early foundations of the new meta take form. Established powerhouses like Blue Doflamingo and Purple Luffy continue to dominate, while highly anticipated newcomers such as R/G Smoker and Yellow Kid are making strong early impressions. The return of Zoro and the rising potential of Blackbeard and U/B Usopp further add to the evolving landscape, giving players a variety of competitive options.
That said, the meta is still far from settled. As players refine their decklists, optimize their strategies, and adapt to new threats, we expect significant shifts in power rankings. The upcoming banlist could also play a crucial role in reshaping the competitive scene, potentially shaking up some of the top-tier decks.
For now, this pre-meta report serves as a baseline snapshot of the OP-10 format’s strongest early contenders. As the meta continues to evolve, we’ll be keeping a close eye on emerging trends, tech choices, and breakout strategies that could redefine the competitive landscape in the weeks to come. Stay tuned—the real battle has only just begun.
