I actually had a different panel 36-37 originally that didn't have the line about "private time" and instead just said 'hmmm' (I couldn't resist the implied visual of Brooke masturbating to the statute though, so went with that direction later on). The holding of hands at the end, while implying the relationship was more about the journey they were both about to take together and how the power imbalance had been resolved (it started with Jo at a disadvantage to the more 'worldly' Brooke but then flipped Brooke finding herself infatuated and unable to stop herself). I'll keep your view in mind though in future about being a bit clearer with those beats throughout.
