Update

Hi guys,


It's been few days. I know there are a few things due like making few conversions of Slave Laura mod and releasing a screenshot set and I will do those for sure but I am deep in learning SF6 modding right now and making some progress. Here is my first half baked mod.

I ported Ryu's legs from SFV and textured them for SF6. SF6 have a lot more textures than SF5 so I haven't edited all of them that's why his legs look kind of rough but this is a practice mod so I am happy that it's working. I will refine it further to hone my skills, feels like beginning of a new age lol.


Anyway I thought I should share some update with you. I will share the Slave Laura conversion and screenshot set as soon as I can.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, Brute. Makes sense starting from scratch. I’m looking forward to the new bodies for SF6 so I’m sure you’ll do these girls right just like you did with SFV :)

Thank you Kylo! Technically yes SFV stuff can be ported to SF6 but it's not easy for several reasons first, SFV and SF6 have several differences in their art style like body proportions and such so if I want my Chunli to look normal in SF6 then I'll have to do some edits to match or come close to SF6 proportinons even if I keep her overall body shape the same (I hope I am making sense here). Secondly, the engines are very different technically so a lot of textures, physics, materials etc needs to be edited to meet RE Engine's requirements but it is within the realm of possible. However what I prefer and plan to do is to make new Chun and other girls bodies from scratch, just like I did for SFV because this way I'll start with SF6 art style and then improve on things that we don't like just like I improved a lot of things for SFV Chunli, she got bigger hips, boobs, curvy waist, toned abdomen etc. I can do the same in SF6, it will take longer but we'll get better looking bodies.

Great start Brute! I know I’m late here but does this mean that potentially you’ll be able to add SFV skins over SF6 characters? Like use Chun’s SFV character model over SF6 Chun? I personally don’t like how she looks in 6 but it is growing on me a little.

You're welcome and thanks. It's a lot different than Unreal engine, there are a bunch of new textures involved, meshes work differently like head, body and hairs are stored in completely different meshes so working on them is a bit more time consuming but there are some good things too like RE engine has the ability to have as many materials as we like to add unlike UE which forced us to work with whatever limited materials we had in a costume. The 3D part stays the same, I am pretty good with Blender so that part doesn't worry me. Loading the mod in game was pretty straight forward however learning the new tools is taking some time.

Hell yeah. Thanks for the update it's really cool to see you take the sf6 demo and start modding with the software! How different is the RE engine compared to unreal for modding? Was the process to get your test mode loaded into the game difficult?

Sick! I look forward to what you can bring to SF6! Your SFV mods are on another level of quality when compared to SFV official models and costumes but Capcom has done a great deal with SF6. I wonder if you even can match that subtle muscle movement and veins popping up when characters are flexing, not to even mention the realistic clothing physics but we shall see!
