More layers
Added 2019-05-08 00:31:59 +0000 UTCBut sometimes, I take a different route. I'll concentrate only on the figures in the new page at first. I'll make a pencil drawing of him or her (or them, one by one), and, after tracing and scanning, proceed to work the single figure out in full.
Now sometimes, I will stop there, as the image is powerful enough for my taste, and present this as a new drawing. But at other times, I will use another layer as a background. That may consist of some simple geometric forms, or of a fully penciled out background, like a room or a cell. I will then render that, and after that, I will put the figure(s) in there. Now I'm working in two or more layers, and apart from the shading and lighting, there also is some other work to do. There might be a bit of scaling involved or a little turn here and there.
