VR Update Check - What's Your Setup?
Added 2021-11-21 15:04:59 +0000 UTCHey Gearheads!
As we reach the end of the year it's time for another overall look at the direction VRA is headed. Part of that is seeing where everyone is on the VR situation. This will be crucial in planning what platforms are not only supported but specifically targeted in the upcoming year.
Please choose the option you most want/plan to use for viewing VRA content in 2022 and thanks for your participation.
P.S. - I'll open this up to the public for people that are considering joining in 2022 as well and I'll be doing an updated post on the VR options available here in the next couple of weeks as well.
*Update: Almost Forgot PSVR again, though I'm guessing that's a few people. If that's your platform of choice, choose High End Wired and write in PSVR in the notes (looks like I'm not able to add to the poll once ppl start voting.)

Lucky! I wanted the index, but couldn't justify the additional cost when I already had the quest, but Quest 2 was a reasonable upgrade. That and I had to move furniture around to play on the Vive when I had it.

2021-11-22 17:41:23 +0000 UTCSounds like it might be the usb cable, if not the official one. I'd recommend double-checking the cable online to make sure people have confirmed success using it, like on Amazon. If that's not it you can run the cable checking through the oculus app to see if it at least acknowledges the cable connection. After that maybe PC specs/port which you can try using the headset with cable on a friend, family member or classmates/co-worker computer or a gaming notebook.

2021-11-22 17:40:08 +0000 UTCYeah, though for some reason I have to use the Quest Airlink or Virtual Desktop. Sidequest works fine, but the Oculus launcher won't recognize it when its hooked up via the usb cable.

2021-11-21 21:08:45 +0000 UTCGot both the Quest 2 and Index. Pretty much only have it being used wireless with my PC when I use the Quest 2. Still mostly use my Index though.

2021-11-21 19:32:21 +0000 UTCI've tried a few of the WMR headsets and the Samsung one was the only one that even came close to the experience of the Oculus Rift. This was a couple of years ago though, so things could have changed, but I'd be surprised if they've caught up to the experience of the Vive Pro / Index. I'm open to feedback though if that's not the case anymore. Oculus Rift is only barely in that category at this point because I could still have a fairly full high end VR experience on one when it first came out and that's what I tested most of my gaming VR content on back in the day.

2021-11-21 18:39:07 +0000 UTCyea since I'm regularly checking content on the computer, my Quest2 stays tethered for the most part as well

2021-11-21 18:35:08 +0000 UTCHuh? Why is Windows MR mid tier? The HP Reverb G2 is top notch and in the end WMR Tier is depending on the PC.
