influx of cancellations
Added 2021-11-24 20:18:53 +0000 UTCI'm noticing a lot of people unsubscribing recently. Normally I pay no mind to fluctuations like that, it just comes with the business, and people are free to unsub for whatever reason they want; however, it's been pretty frequent this past week or so. I want to stress that you can message me if you think something's amiss or if you're having trouble with something on my page.
That said, some reasons I've given pertain to my activity for this month, which leads me to believe that people are unsubbing because of a few possibilities:
1. They're put off by the commission activity instead of me working on more personal or page focused things.
2. They're put off by my period of activity at the start of the month.
I do want to just remind people that my page, including payments, was put on hold for November, which is the cause of both of these events. Existing subscriptions were not charged for November. This applies to all of November too, though I am posting what activity I do have this month. I basically had no income for November, and thus I'm doing commissions / adopts now as a quick way to make up for that.
From a management standpoint, essentially October and November are combined and treated as one giant month. Or, that November was basically a 'free' month for existing patrons.
If you're frustrated by my inactivity or expected me to be more active as of late, I implore you to please read update posts more. I put up as many signs as I could and I mentioned all these plans and the impact it'd have (specifically, how it won't affect patrons at all) way back and throughout October, yet I still have some people leaving with the exit reason of "Zedrin was less active than I expected."
Again, regular activity will resume once pledges are turned back on for December.

Yeah, that's totally fine. There's an exit survey that Patreon offers for a short response, and the most frequent thing I see is "financial reasons" or the like. As mentioned, I'm not owed peoples' money, they can unsub if they feel the need to, and I don't want to feel responsible for someone's financial hardships. Art at the end of the day is a luxury. But I have seen a few instances of "activity" being cited, which again, that was addressed. It's just the reason given that bothers me.

2021-11-26 12:34:11 +0000 UTCI don't mind the inactivity or commission stuff. I'm honestly just scared to ask for commission works. I am mostly in it to support artists.

2021-11-26 06:23:30 +0000 UTCYeah I understand that thought process behind the rampant unsubbing from your patreon, but we can't rule out that people might be pre-emptively unsubbing for money's sake, like for bills or Christmas gifts.

2021-11-26 05:45:13 +0000 UTCIn my case, I didn't cancel. I just switched to annual payment instead.

2021-11-25 02:00:26 +0000 UTCWhile I don't know how well it would translate to the art or time to complete, an example of what I'm meaning is a sketch of like socket and pivot on a date & a random guy starts trying to flirt with socket which causes pivot to get angry and crushes something she's holding so the guy flees.

2021-11-25 00:56:24 +0000 UTCI'm not sure of their reasons for leaving but I did the year subscription mainly for PV02 comic. While I get that it's on hiatus for various reasons and understand it won't be back till you're ready to make it again, I'd like to see something that would add more personality & depth to the characters rather then pinups.

2021-11-25 00:45:38 +0000 UTCThe only thing that I could see someone having a problem with is the 'anything but male on male commissions' bit. I am not saying it is, but I could see how someone might think that means you have something against the male gay? A bit of a stretch i know, but I can't think of anything else. Your content comes through fairly regularly I think.

2021-11-24 21:35:08 +0000 UTCHey, in my eyes, you’re perfectly fine, Z. I’m actually thankful for your honesty that you’d be less active if not fully inactive and stopping payments because of it. For anyone that has a problem, and I mean this with the highest amount of respect, one of my other memberships hasn’t posted anything since JUNE and is STILL charging people. I didn’t even realize that until recently. So… which would you rather have: someone honest and communicates with their members or someone that’s radio silent but still expects you to pay?

2021-11-24 21:03:28 +0000 UTCSeeing the commission stuff is actually nice every once in a while, verity is the spice of life. In the US we are dealing with some levels of inflation and with the holidays coming up and the other expenses like that might be a solid cause (saying this right after buying an engagement ring). I guess plenty of folk look at the amount of posts a creator makes a month, mind you this month was free with you.
