So that stream was a fucking trainwreck.
Every time I do these streams there's always a few people who, the first thing they do upon entering the chat, is try to make a request or ask how things work, despite the rules being on the original post, on screen, and in the description.
It's to be expected. I reiterate over and over to them 'read the rules' until they finally actually do so.
But for whatever goddamn reason today was exceptionally bad. Usually the bad cases are early in stream and then teeter out as time goes on, but today it was constant. There would be a new person every minute who was incessantly asking how the process works despite it being on screen, who was jumping the gun and posting requests before being given the go-ahead, etc.
This lasted all the way to the end of the stream. A few times some got bent out of shape when their request wasn't selected, which is a great way to react.
These bad cases obviously aren't everyone and might not even be a majority, but having to deal with them every time they pop up slows things down significantly and makes the entire ordeal very not-fun. The reason I've been doing the request streams is because it brings in viewers, and ideally would bring people to Patreon or maybe entice them to send a buck or two via streamlabs. They honestly haven't been very successful in that regard.
I don't want to make a patreon-exclusive stream because I have tried that multiple times in the past (not just on this page but my old SFS one as well) and turnout is abysmal when it's private, and it's difficult to schedule around, and it defeats these other goals. As an in-between approach I added the $5-patron-requests to the first part of the streams because you guys generally are way more reliable when it comes to making requests, but the newcomers who want nothing more than a free drawing and don't give two shits about the artists drawing really kinda ruined it and waste our time.
So, yeah that's the rant and is why there's only a few of the patron requests done, and only one public request. (The public one being from someone I know at that.) I dunno if I'll be continuing the request streams after this. Streaming didn't feel rewarding or fulfilling at all for either me or Neayix.
