I thought that instead of me doing all the talking, I’d ask our writer to share their memories of how our star of the day was first introduced to the game... Does anyone else remember the details? 🤔
Here’s a (not so) short story to take you down memory lane 🌌✨
Despite her enchanting appearance and pleasant manner of being, make no mistake: she is actually an alien capable of crossing multiple dimensions higher than our three. Or, at least, she used to be, before a mishap she has since left unsaid caused her ship to crash into our planet and locked her into this… admittedly, very pleasing form. As a researcher, she wanted to study us carbon-based lifeforms - and now, she has a chance to do so deeply and intimately. After all, what better way to understand this foreign concept of “love” than to experience it yourself…?
Allura was originally designed by Nelson Barros for our Character Design contest we held while we were working on Shelter 69. Clear inspirations from old Sci-Fi movies giving her a unique astropunk feel that we felt meshed incredibly well with Shelter 69, giving us the unique opportunity to have our very own “Alien Blaster” sort of reference - only instead of holding a gun, you hold… her heart. Unfortunately we couldn’t use her entire backstory as designed by Nelson due to narrative limitations, but we sure hope we carried her lovely spirit across!
