Bad and good news ;)

Hello dear patrons!

I'm a bit sad today, this morning, I had the unfortunate surprise to find that after 8 years of daily use and good service, my wacom cintiq (my drawing tablet) has decided to retire. The screen would stay on just a second before going black. I tried my old gc and different cables, problem persists... Damn, that mean my tablet might be broken! So I searched on internet, found people having the same issue, striped my tablet off its hull, did not see any burn capacitor, so it must be the led retro lighting. I called a tech support, they confirmed its the issue, but I could not find any place near home that sell the part I need. Long story short, the tablet is not worth repairing, its too old, and I don't have the time to wait to get a rare part. It was a quite costy device, (I bought it for 2400€ back in 2013) and I was planning on replacing it in the near future because the tech has made much progress since then, but I wasn't ready!

The good news is I've bought a new one. I've chosen the xp pen 24 pro and I should receive it in a day or two. I've watched a few tests on youtube, it seems to be decent quality and and costs a thousand euros (thrice cheaper than wacom current equivalent). The bad news is that I was running on a tight schedule to finish Andromeda's chapter 9 before I take a vacation from august 2nd to 9th, that won't be possible anymore, it will be delayed a bit. In that regard, I decided I will only be working on new artworks and animations till august and resume Andromeda when I get back.

It's a minor drawback, but on the bright side, the tablet I've bought is also 24", but with 2.5k resolution vs good old 1080p big fat pixels on the old lady. So it's a kind of progress I guess, I hope I don't regret it. Wacom display tablets are top of the line but damn, they're expensive. I dream about the 32" 4k model but I'll have to wait to get it haha.

So the next artwork I upload will be made with that new tablet, I'll do my best to make another artwork with a kickass animation !
