It's been a while since I last did a newsletter so let's fix that, shall we? Here are three things I've been enjoying recently
The new Amigo the Devil album
Oh it's very very very good. At turns funny, devastating and inspiring and just all round good murderfolk. A lovely album, if not necessarily for the faint of heart!
Delicious in Dungeon
I don't tend to watch much anime but Delicious in Dungeon is absolutely phenomenal. It's about friendship and delicious food and overcoming challenges and there's a dwarf called Seishin with whom I feel a very deep connection.
Helldivers 2
Ah it's just very very good, isn't it? The people I play video games with on a Friday night haven't been this excited about a new release in ages, even if one of them is an absolute MENACE when it comes to calling down airstrikes right on top of the squad
The usual questions
How's Watson?
A delight, as per usual! She's starting to go grey around her eyes and muzzle which feels DEEPLY UNFAIR but all in all she is doing great and is a very sweet dog. We got her a puzzle toy in the form of a snake that you can put treats in and she absolutely loves it. It's good fun watching her run about with a big snake in her mouth like she's just protected us from something venomous.
How's work?
I suspect a lot of you can guess the answer to this one, but I've been struggling lately! This year has been unbelievably busy thus far and I am very sorry that the channel has suffered as a result. I've been late on episodes of Press Any Chiodini and I haven't been streaming anywhere near as much as I would like to. Things should get back to normal after next week and, as ever, I am immensely grateful for your patience with this slightly dysfunctional creator. I won't pretend life is easy at the moment, but I am very much looking forward to getting my ducks back in a row and cracking on with business as usual.

Hey Johnny! I was catching up on Oxventure podcast stuff, and Jane mentioned a few weeks back that you recommended a desk chair for her. Since then I’ve paid attention to what you two are using and it looks great, but I can’t track down the name of it anywhere. Any chance you can share that secret?

2024-03-28 03:31:47 +0000 UTCI've been enjoying Delicious in Dungeon as well. I would also recommend Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. It's a wonderful treatise on time, friendship, and how our relationships with other effects or views on the world through the lens of an elf who has lived for hundreds of years. It's essentially about this elf's journey after her and her party successfully complete a campaign to slay the demon lord. The philosophy in it is top notch and I love the pacing. (The art is wonderful as well)

2024-03-11 20:25:58 +0000 UTCLoving Delicious in Dungeon - it’s from one of my favorite studios, and I very much wasn’t expecting them to swap from robots and explosions to fantasy monsters and food. No complaints here though. Frieren is also a great fantasy series though it lacks the food angle. (Lots of mimics though.)

And that's the thing, obviously yes, you've been putting less stuff on your channel, but in pursuit of creating other entertainment, which we, as tithe paying Chiodinites, will be equally pleased with, I am certain. 😁
