When you said Lee County, VA, I got goosebumps. That's the County my mama was from. I backed up and let you say it again, feeling goosebumps and a closeness to my mama, who passed on many years ago, that I am grateful for. The little details of Appalachia, like a place name or the description of a sound I have heard or a familiar smell is a great comfort to me, Family. I thank you.

So I just got into this a little over a week ago, at a friend's recommendation. I've listened to everything I can twice through now. This is one of the greatest pieces of storytelling I've come across in quite awhile. Thank you, GOA family!

This is an awesome episode that begins to tie the story strands together. I wonder if the Walker sisters will be the thread that connects most of the stories.

This is some true, honest to goodness, talent in here!! I am sucked into the story everytime, like I was a part of it and it ALWAYS leaves me wanting more!! Amazing writing, amazing storytelling, just downright amazing. I can't wait to hear where this one goes 🖤🖤

Cora Lee sounds a lot like my Mama. She, too, went back to my father, because she thought she had no where to run. She found the courage to leave him for good, the night he hit me in the head with a piggy bank, and knocked me out cold. I'm not afraid to admit, this story made me cry. Mama's been gone for 7 years now, and this story brought back a lot of memories. It reminded me of some bad times, yes, but mostly, it reminded me of the strength my Mama found, to strike out on her own, and raise her children by herself. Thank you, Cam, for writing these wonderful characters, and thank you, Steve, for bringing them to life. I can't wait to hear what happens next!

What a story! Cam's writing pulls me in and Steve's storytelling brings the story to life. I can't wait to hear it again, family! ❤
