New Years update

You may have noticed that I've been a little bit less active recently. Between the holidays and the New Year's, I have managed to overwork my hand severely.

I thought that I've learned how to deal with my hand issues, but it seems that I was wrong. Looks like I still have a lot to learn. Mainly, how to slow down.

I am, slowly, getting my hand back into working condition. Right now I can handle about an hour and a half of drawing each day. Which is a big step down from my average five to six hours before.

I'm going to have to slow down for the foreseeable future. It's something that I should have done last year, but I just didn't want to. I think I can still manage to get Alfie done every week, but everything else has to be put on back burner for now.

Meanwhile, I'll focus on actually recovering my hand. I'm gonna have to make some changes. For example, right now I am dictating this post instead of writing it by hand. Windows voice to text software seems to actually be pretty good.

I thought that this could be a good time to do a roundup of all of my projects. I do get questions every once in a while about when is this or that is getting updated and I think it's a good time to lay it out.

Alfie: No changes here. Finishing Alfie remains my top priority. You can expect two pages every week.

Nun and Witch comic: Secondary priority. As soon as I have any breathing room I will commit time back into finishing this one.

Patrons suggestions and votes: I'm afraid that I will have to cut those for now. Which is a shame, because I've been really enjoying them recently. I feel bad about not having a weekly vote But I just cannot afford anymore projects right now.

GrimLewd: this one is in an awkward spot for me. While while I do like a lot of the designs and ideas I've put into this world, I think the format was wrong. The NSFW work comics focused way too much on individual characters, instead of establishing the world. I do want to come back to this project one day with a different angle. A GrimLewd 2.0 of a sort. For now, it's on ice, but not dead.

Midlife Crisis: Believe it or not, this one is not dead. I think that after I finish the Nun and Witch comic I will commit some time to finish this one.

The invitation: once in a while, I still play around with the idea of continuing the Invitation. It is my favorite work to date. But then I remember how much of a pain in the ass was to draw. Then I look at my achey hand and decide not to think about it too hard. Perhaps one day.

Any project of mine that is not mentioned above is one hundred percent dead. It's never coming back. It's never, ever getting finished.

It's dead.

And that's all I have for you today, folks! I hope that you're having a good start to the year. Despite my issues, I am.

I hope that you excuse typos and weird sentences in this post. While dictating is easy, editing requires two hands. I had to go easy on that.

Cheers!

Some experts say Van Gogh's greatest genius was as a sketch artist, above his spectacular use of color. You sir have had a genius for portraiture since your earliest days, both sketched and color-drawn. I continue to hope there is some path "Out There" that will allow you to work with either hand you choose. For the sake of whatever you may choose to do in the future, limited only by your own creativity. If you ever get bored, watch the documentary by John Maloof on Vivian Maier. If you ever get crazy-ambitious, contact Maloof about how to approach doing a museum exhibit of your work. In some place where local laws allow, of course :-) Just sayin'.

Main prevention of cramps: 1 measured teaspoon (tsp) of L-ornithine L-aspartate. 1 tsp of L-carnitine, no added acetyl or HCl, it's too acidic unless neutralized. 100mg of Thiamine HCl (somewhat acidic). Mix it up in 50-100ml water and drink it slowly; causes belching. Last resort prevention of cramps: Diclofenac gel, 1% or 2%, the brand name is Voltaren. Might work better if you wore a finger-less glove over it. Poor man's muscle relaxant: 1,000mg of guaifenesin, tablets are rough and should be chewed, tastes hideous. YMMV.

Hope you are doing well❤️

Strawberrybutt900

Hey. Just checking in to see how you are doing. I hope you are doing everything you need to take care of yourself. Waned to share how grateful I am for all you have produced!

Chris

Keep making what you love.

Matthew Smith

joined cause youve already given me some of the best art in my lifetime and enough to last another ten lifetimes. you'll get my dollar even if you stop. <3

Zoetropes

Just subscribed to help encourage you to slow down and let your hand heal!!

SomeYoungGuy

Even as a paying customer, I'm much more interested in the well-being of the best web artist than getting timely updates on my art porn. Be well.

Mecca

Get well soon, I love you(r art)

Toma Toshi

For the love of any and all gods that may or may not exist, PLEASE START TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF AND LET YOUR HAND HEAL!

Ian

I can't remember. But, the short story about this student who were having sex in a library. Was that story finished?

Zixil

I too support taking the time for a thorough recovery. And I want to add that I really love The Invitation. You're style of lewd has always deeply appealed to me. And I'm also a huge fan of cosmic horror. The way you combine the two is unlike anything I've seen anywhere else. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you some day feel inspired to return to that. But I'll still keep enjoying all your other work in the meantime.

RunningGentles

I concur with what others have said about wishing you well and taking the time you need. Separate from that, and just to offer a varying opinion, I have to say that the Invitation is my least favorite of your works. Obviously others feel differently, but for me it's too dark (visually and spiritually, actually). But I do honestly believe you should work on what you want to. Thanks for everything you've done so far!

Fred Frieburg

Take the time you need

Roger Junior Chabot

Every thing is so good, but the Invitation was really special. Remember Count Rugen - "Get some rest. If you haven't got your health, then you haven't got anything."

Generic

Do what you’ve got to do to stay healthy. Been following your work for a very long time and will continue to do so.

neet-oh

Normally I wish people a 'speedy recovery'. This time I just wish you a recovery, forget abot the 'speedy' part. Take your time! Get well. Your work is outstanding, we can wait!

Jon

Happy New Year to you too. Yes it is very important to us that you heal properly because your artwork would be sorely missed in the world. Perhaps with your limited drawing availability you might consider doing one page each of Alfie and the Nun and the Witch, we won't mind losing the second page weekly, that way you could still work on each and move both projects along and finish the Nun and the Witch to free up some time for other things without over working your hand. You would still be doing two pages a week but on two projects instead of just one. That's my opinion anyways. Good luck and a speedy recovery. Thanks for the art.

Robert B.

Take your time. Patreon is also there for artists not working and in between works, not only for those publishing currently

Em Gla

For what little it's worth, you have my prayers and good wishes. Thank you for working so hard for so long to make these things we enjoy. I know it will be hard to make such significant changes, but nobody wants you to hurt yourself for any reason. Kick back, read some good stuff, and look forward to that glorious day when you've rested enough to allow real healing. Live long and prosper and all that good stuff, to you and your lady and everyone you care about.

Grendel's Stepmother

Will enjoy everything you put out, just wishing that there were ways to help expedite your healing so that you can do everything that you want.

z

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with that. I just want to say, anything you create in the future will be a joy for us to experience, and everything you have created in the past will live fondly in our hearts (and other places). Thank you, and please take care of yourself.

OftenSane

So sorry you're having to deal with all this. As a fellow repetitive stress and chronic pain sufferer, I relate! Would love to see you continue the Puazi stories, but totally understand. Take care of yourself!

Zack benYosef

I'm sorry you're dealing with this Incase. Having to put your passions on hold - or slowing them down - just sucks, and it's understandable why you'd not want to right away. We loved your art before, we love it now, and we can wait however long it takes - so long as you're put as the priority. Your well-being first, always.

Cole Blackblood

I've loved your content for years, and I'll gladly support you during your recovery. Your art, story, and human elements to your drawings/comics are what make you so unique. You're also the Brandon Sanderson of drawing, so I'm sure even at a reduced pace you'll be cranking them out! Get better and heal correctly :P

Vanafier

Ah shoot, and just as it looks like my tank loving lesbians were pulling ahead in the polls. Nevermind though, it's alright. Get your rest, and hope your hand gets better, and doesn't get worse. Seriously, don't let the later happen, even if it means stopping a while, or giving us stick figures with dicks and boobs. Hand is important. Health and no pain is important. Don't over do it.

Alexander El Cazoro

I’ve been following your career for many years now and as an artist myself I always admired your amazing ability to create so much so quickly! I hope all that hard work has gotten you to a place where you’ve found your audience and you can find a new and better balance for your new few years. You were always insanely productive, I’m sure even at 50% speed you’ll be blowing other creators out of the water.

Eliza

Take care and get well soon but most important - be patient with yourself!

Andrea (Maurizio)

i love your work and would like for it to continue but in all honesty me and most of your fans can wait until you get better.

joshua n justus

Please prioritize your health. Thank you for all of your production to date. It remains among the highest quality of erotic artwork I've ever seen.

JohnR

Take your time and get the rest you need. Also so overjoyed to hear that Midlife Crisis is coming back in the future. Was so worried you moved on from it. Love those characters so much and so interested to see where that story goes.

BoomstickN7

Please take proper time to rest! 100% of the people on here willingly patronize to support you and the majority of your supporters will have patience and will be happy whenever you can update, please don't get more bodily trauma oAO

Tokifuji

For what it's worth I'd love to have some kind of a framework for playing GrimLewd as a potentially horny ttrpg.

Drivestort

Rest well!

Twelve Seal

Please rest and heal!

Stephen Wells

Heal up, and congrats on closing out some projects whose time had come--unfinished work comes with a toll until you walk away from it.

sigsegv

Your talent shines through regardless of the output. Your priorities are valid.

John

One suggestion: I would love to read more about the world building in GrimLewd. No drawings needed. I find the concept unique and want to read more! If you want, you could even do polls to find out what to write about next or dive into deeper. If the speech to text is working, this could be a creative outlet that places minimal strain on your hand. Once you finish Alfie, you’ll have enough written that you can add drawings to cover what you (or polls) most want to see drawn.

Brent Sieling

Rest well!!!

Saint Nick

Don't feel bad about taking your time, and doing only what you can/want to do without hurting your hand further. Anyone who enjoys your art should want you to recover fully rather than quickly. That means more porn long term! <3

Fukata

Take care! Your well being is the number one priority. Happy to hear you're making healthy choices.

E. Lye Morgen

I’ve got chronic wrist injuries and also do comics! Wrappings and small wrist braces while drawing help a lot, as do frequent breaks and gentle stretches. Chunkier wrist braces while not working helps a ton! Good luck, thanks for updating :]

CorvidsCorpse

Whatever you need to do! You have been, are, and will be an incredible talent.

Simon Penni

By all means rest! Health comes first.

Carlos Elías Pineda León

A successful recovery will be valuable to others as well. Set the example as a big wig artist and don't over do it. :)

Dare

Honestly brother, just take your time and recover at your own pace. I'd rather you be healthy and whole than suffering while you work. You will always come first, so please do not push yourself while you are healing. Take as much time as you need.

Zen

Take your time and recover. 👍

Kit H.

I was kind of wondering if something happened with the silence but figured it was just the holidays. Sorry to hear about your hand. Trying to balance work and recovery is always delicate. Hope it recovers swiftly.

Einsem

Midlife Crisis HYPE!!!

Richard Givens

Hope you are better every day

Harold V. Campbell

I hope your recovery goes well. That’s what is important. I am extremely hype that the Invitation is not completely dead. It is also my favorite project of yours. I enjoyed the glimpses at the streams you did do. I could see why it was so time consuming.

Ain3z

Focus on yourself, king

Grandflame

There is no art without the artist and there is no fans/community without the art. Therefore, keep the artist happy and healthy. Take care of yourself. The stuff you’ve done more than warrants patients for more.

Thomas Sutter

This is inspirational I have about 40 projects that I should just declare dead instead of letting their ghost haunt me for all eternity

Rae Esterlina

Please take all the time you need. Listen to the hints your body is telling you before it forces you to shut down. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Your art is worth the wait and your fans are patient.

Tiara McSpeedy

Love your work, you do so much amazing stuff. So happy to hear there might be more invitation one day, it's my favorite of yours. Please take good care of yourself, I'm sure it's hard to pull back on how much you're drawing each day, when it's obviously your passion. Rooting for you!!

Del

recovery is the most important thing! we can wait, absolutely

HaloDracoris

took me 6-8 months to heal my rotator cuff and hand injury. I had to incorporate stretches into my life that now i have to to do on a daily basis that activate my neck, shoulder, hip flexor, hand and arm. I'm hyper aware of where I place my arm and how long i lean on things like tables, car middle console, especially my drawing tablet. Also holding my head up with my elbows or holding a phone in the flexed position, all that is a thing of the past and I cant do it anymore. i have a cushion under the tablet at the edge of the table so if i lean on the tablet to draw something it doesn't lean on the edge of the table. You should take this injury seriously as it can impact your life forever, i also use compression gloves along with arm elbow braces, cbd creams, tiger balms and very careful with all pain killers and anti-inflammatories bc they are just means to fuck up another part of your body when used regularly. I hope you feel better <3

Stem Quin

Take care of yourself. Your art is amazing but your health means more to us .

Terry Blackmill

Take your time recovering, your work is so good, it is always worth the wait. Quality far outweighs quantity, in my opinion. Super happy to see Invitation mentioned, but I can fully understand your reason for not continuing it now. Maybe one day. Best of luck with the rest of the projects, I am sure I will enjoy all of them, no matter how quick or slow they roll out. ✨️

Madamka

Take care dude and focus on recovery, i know how hard it can be so don't force yourself. You have a wonderfull mind and and it'd be a shame to damage your health any further. Stay strong king we love you.

Tumsh

Spicing Things Up fans, it's joever

Yoko52

Indeed, The Invitation was phenomenal and I am glad to see that a sequel is not officially dead. But no pressure! Go for it of you think the time is right, not sooner!

Windsaw

I wish you a steady recovery and am overjoyed that mid-life crisis ain't done yet.

Tannerbot

Learning to go slow is tough! Take care of yourself <3

Erin

Get well soon! Def take it easy. Didn't know you drew that much before wow.

Daniel Lee

Man, take the time you need and spend as much time as you feel is necessary making the changes that will help your workflow, and do not stress yourself about arbitrary deadlines. Your physical health comes first.

Seb Jones

Firstly, take care of yourself! Secondly, I actually really enjoyed the "Seeing the world of Grimlewd through a variety of different, specific viewpoints." Speaking of someone who's done TTRPG stuff for quite a while, that's actually how to get people invested in learning more. I think it may need less of a rework than you think.

Julian

I said to myself "I can feel that." upon reading "Midlife Crisis is not dead". Then I remembered.

Smiling Walrus

I hope you can recover properly this year. Don't overwork yourself and I'm sure that most of your patreons feel as I do, that you have nothing to feel guilty for. I'd keep my monthly plan with you even if you went on months old hiatus.

nano

Super bummed to hear about Grimlewd, but understandable you have a lot of irons in the fire. Still happy to see that so much else is trucking along!

Daniel Gore

Thank you for soldiering on. I wish you a steady and rapid recovery, and I hope that in the coming year you will be able to return to all the projects you love.

Michael Butchin

Appreciate the update, speedy healing to you!

SiberianHussy

Good luck with the healing and thank you for the update!

TheAoHna

Take care of yourself 🩷🩷
