4.2 The challenge
“Get it over here, fools,” Assawin
snapped impatiently at a pair of
soldiers. Struggling under the weight
of a great rock, they had dug up out
of the river.
Graisingh was suspicious on an
instant. He looked over at the pair of
men dressed-down by their general.
Struggling up from the riverbank.
A large boulder carried between them.
His eyes flashed back at Seur, stood
where his guards had dragged him.
Right in front of himself. Seur
frowned at him. Asking his prince
what was going on.
Graisingh set his jaw, grimly his look
flashed back at the general. Seeking
an answer himself. Only getting back
a smirk. A knowing look. A sardonic
smile that knew more than Assawin
was letting on.
Maybe the key to this prince’s
toughness was not the strength in his
body. Days of tortured hard work
had not broken his back. Maybe,
Assawin wondered to himself, he
could break this troublemaker in
other ways.
“Take it, dog.” Dismissively
Assawin snapped at Seur to take the
boulder off the guards.
