Storage limits
Added 2021-09-01 09:33:35 +0000 UTCHello patrons, I may have to start adding a storage limit to accounts soon. It has come to my attention that some people upload A LOT of stuff to their pixeldrain accounts (like everything in this world, it follows the Pareto Principle, 20% of the users use 80% of the space). This is fine and all, but as always there are some outliers which are pushing the limits of what's possible for €2 per month.
For this reason I want to start limiting accounts to about 1 TB of storage space per €2. So the Pro tier gets 1 TB, Resolve gets 2 TB, et cetera. Free accounts get 500 GB. This is not supposed to be limiting, and I'm not making profit off it either (a TB of storage costs about €4 per month overall). Pixeldrain is primarily a content sharing system, not a storage system, so it doesn't make sense to limit users in this way. It's just to prevent people from abusing the system and to give people an incentive to upgrade their account if they're running into the limits.
I will not start deleting your files if you cross this limit, you just won't be able to upload anything until you upgrade to a higher plan. I'm not sure when I will have time to implement this, probably somewhere in this month.

Hi, the storage limit is already equal to the price I'm paying for that storage at my hosting provider. I cannot increase it further without losing money. You can upgrade your pixeldrain account with the link that was sent to your patreon e-mail address. After that it's all automatic
