Would love to know what you think of this! I usually like Frank’s recipes, but this one seems a bit too bland for me https://youtu.be/2D73t-W1PSo?si=dAgNtDla1eMylBoA

2024-11-20 11:07:04 +0000 UTCYeah it's definitely a popular UK sandwich. Like most British cuisine it can be rather bland - but if all the ingredients are good quality it can be really nice. I have no idea if the US has pickle that is like we have in the UK - Branston Pickle is our most popular brand.

2024-11-19 14:53:21 +0000 UTCI did the spicy chicken taste test years ago. Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich without question the most flavorful.

2024-11-18 22:39:07 +0000 UTCdamn....I forgot about those. Oof. In New Orleans especially

2024-11-18 22:39:01 +0000 UTCI had not heard of it. But I looked it up. I'd love to try. Feels like it has the perfect british elements to it

2024-11-18 22:37:57 +0000 UTCAs long as I don't have it too often I really enjoy a good Ploughman's Sandwich now and again.

2024-11-18 04:03:18 +0000 UTCAlso, I’ll add shrimp po boy as my second fav (as you can tell, I love seafood lol)

2024-11-18 03:55:44 +0000 UTCI get mostly Italian and fried chicken. Also love a pastrami or a classic pulled pork shoulder bbq with Cole slaw.

2024-11-18 02:29:23 +0000 UTCBtw I just remembered that the Banh Mi is the sandwich the cops were talking about in the 2018 Halloween. That scene was so ridiculous lol
Henri J. Mertens
2024-11-18 02:19:02 +0000 UTCI’ve never had a Banh Mi 🫢. That needs to change ASAP lol
Henri J. Mertens
2024-11-18 02:13:13 +0000 UTCI think chik-fila definitely has them beat lol, but taste is subjective
Henri J. Mertens
2024-11-18 02:07:40 +0000 UTCOh and I think this sandwich goes perfect with roasted garlicky sweet potatoes as a side. The sweetness and crunchiness contrasts so well with the sandwich. But if you don’t like sweet potatoes I think red potatoes would also be good
Henri J. Mertens
2024-11-18 01:59:07 +0000 UTCI also like to omit jelly, but I’ll add some fresh sliced strawberries and a banana. And I like to change it up with almond butter sometimes. Oh and a dash of cinnamon

2024-11-18 01:52:08 +0000 UTCmaybe a second place one would be a really good italian sandwich with thin focaccia bread, mozzarella, pesto or like an olive spread, basil leaves, prosciutto. But man...so many. BLT, Bahn Mi, Reuben, meatball sub....and ya'll have some unique ones here too that I want to try and make. Loving these responses.

2024-11-18 01:29:58 +0000 UTCI'm a huge BLT girl. That kinda became my obsession at a certain point. I like it with really good summer tomatoes with avocado. And some good thick bacon. Some steak fries on the side makes it feel ultra diner nostalgic. Fuck yeah.
Deepfocuslens
2024-11-18 01:24:07 +0000 UTCI can weirdly see that being comforting. But never tried it. Was always a huge PB&J girl and would always pack that in my lunch.

2024-11-18 01:22:39 +0000 UTCYou guys are giving such incredible ones. It's too hard to pick for me often. So I just go with what's been my favorite one I’ve been digging the most recently. I make a really good torta, but I do it my own way. Telera bread sliced open and all the rest added inside: Mayo spread on both sides of the inside Add pastor meat or chorizo cooked depending on what I have, Melted pepper jack or cotija....honestly even melted sliced mozzarella from the store hits the spot and balances out the spicy nicely if you prefer, Shredded iceberg lettuce, Thinly sliced red onion, Sliced thin avocado, Pickled jalapenos sliced, Lime juice squeezed Fries on the side with a carta blanca or a margarita.

2024-11-18 01:20:35 +0000 UTCIt's so goddamn good, I don't think I've ever said no to a reuben before.
Vejay S.
2024-11-18 01:15:10 +0000 UTCReuben is up there for me. There's something about that combo
Deepfocuslens
2024-11-18 01:11:35 +0000 UTCthis sounds really good. Especially the addition of the dill and paprika
Deepfocuslens
2024-11-18 01:11:04 +0000 UTCdamn...Banh Mi's are incredible. That's one I forgot about. This is such a hard question
Deepfocuslens
2024-11-18 01:10:20 +0000 UTCthat sounds really great right now

2024-11-18 01:09:46 +0000 UTCTurkey (grilled or oven roasted), Provolone cheese, Alfalfa sprouts, Tomato (homegrown), Avocado, Chipotle mayo (Bacon optional) on homemade sourdough.

2024-11-18 00:43:16 +0000 UTCFor me it is the McChicken. The BEST fast food sandwich.

2024-11-17 23:49:05 +0000 UTCBeing from North Jersey, I'm obligated to say Taylor ham and egg on a NY-style everything bagel, salt and pepper. As a Greek, tho, I'm obligated to say a gyro. Lamb made on a vertical rotisserie, thinly sliced, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a little bit of tzatziki sauce (I like mine on the side, for dipping) on a lightly toasted pita. My "real" answer right now is probably a classic Banh Mi though.
Edward Looney
2024-11-17 21:59:06 +0000 UTCPeanut butter with no jelly. I've been eating those for lunch almost every day since I was 5. Jelly is fine but I've always liked the taste of peanut butter by itself better. Still hasn't gotten old.
Wolfman Brandon
2024-11-17 21:00:12 +0000 UTCAlso a bacon egg and cheese sandwich is WAY more decadent than a pb&j…its all fat and cholesterol
Henri J. Mertens
2024-11-17 20:19:47 +0000 UTC@Arthur Sugar and fat don’t go together? That’s kind of an insane take lol
Henri J. Mertens
2024-11-17 19:56:56 +0000 UTCBut mayo and butter don’t go together as a base. PB and J does. It’s ingenious. Who cares if it’s simple?

2024-11-17 19:48:59 +0000 UTCBest sandwich I ever had was a turkey sandwich on fresh focaccia bread with lettuce, tomato, and chipotle mayo. With pasta salad. I know it sounds basic, but it was the focaccia bread that made it special.

2024-11-17 19:47:25 +0000 UTCMeatball Parm ? That count ?
swift minus one
2024-11-17 19:44:08 +0000 UTCCuban, specifically the Cubano at Porto’s in LA. That with the mariquitas was probably the best thing I’ve ever had out in California.

2024-11-17 19:41:24 +0000 UTCI just want to get ahead and say anyone who says PBJ needs to be sent to a re-education camp. That is bread with two types of spread. It’s a tasty indulgence but no more a sandwich than mayonnaise and butter. I’m a big fan of meatball subs but I’m gonna go with Bacon Egg and Cheese. It’s a classic and is always good. Rare sandwich where the same ingredients with a skill cooked can make it better.

2024-11-17 19:39:44 +0000 UTCMy personal favorite: Thanksgiving themed. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mayo. But…..honorable mentions: Grilled cheese, Tuna melt, BLT, and old fashioned PB&J. Then again, this is very hard to pick 1 favorite. So many good choices for various reasons. Lol. What’s your favorite??
Basic Penguin
2024-11-17 19:38:22 +0000 UTCMy personal favorite is a salmon (or chicken) salad sandwich on toasted sourdough bread: Ingredients: Leftover grilled salmon/chicken (mash with fork) Nonfat Greek yogurt Mayo Shallots Dijon mustard Fresh dill Lime zest Diced celery Toasted almonds Smoked paprika Red pepper flakes/diced jalapeños Black pepper Sea salt Sometimes I’ll eat it without bread and on a bed of spinach or shredded red cabbage
