Don't know if it counts as horror or thriller but Silence of the Lambs (1991) is amazing.

The Thing (1982) is amazing... :D

You don't mind foreign films? Awesome! Nattevagten!!! 1994. Starring a very young Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister from GoT) It was remade in English with Ewan McGregor, but it was not as good

Signe (Seena) Stewart

1408

Aliens (1986) is the best horror movie ever.. Saw is nothing but torture porn. Ellen Ripley is overlooked on every suggestion page.. the greatest female actions hero ever.

The Ring, Room 1408, When a Stranger Calls, in case your interested in a movie that not as gory as Saw

Sinister

Put me down for Saw also. It’s so good.

The thing! Hereditary! Babadook!

Agreed on Saw. I am not a big fan of horror flicks but Saw is one exception.

The saying is "no holds barred" not "no hold bars," lol. The best intersection in indie-arthouse and current mainstream horror are films by Ari Aster. Start with "Hereditary" (2018). I would also suggest "Parasite" from this past year. It's closer to thriller than horror (although a lot of it is horrifying), but it is easily one of the best films period from the last 20 years. It won Best Picture, Best Writing, and Best Directing this year at the Oscar's. Incredible film. Don't Google a single thing about it. It's on Hulu.

I am agreeing with Saw! One of the greatest franchises ever! Don’t research anything. Just watch Saw, starting with Saw 1 from 2004.

Idk, I'm not into horror movies much. Friday the 13th
