Underwater Statue

She thought it was only a legend. A myth, with no substance in reality. It was a remote lagoon in which several ships had gone down throughout the years. SHips with untold treasure still on board. She ignored the locals' warnings and set out in a rowboat, She had a necklace that would let her breathe underwater. She was quickly proven wrong about the creature in the lagoon. She was a few hundred yards from shore when the beast attacked. She tried to defend herself, but quickly succumbed to the beast's petrifying gaze, locking her in place. The locals who were at the shoreline watched the beast then swamp the boat, sending it and the petrified treasure hunter to the bottom of the lagoon. That was hundreds of years ago, and the beast still stalks the lagoon, looking to neutralize any intruders that dares to invade its territory.

This is actually a test image I did to get better at making underwater scenes. I came up with the story for the image later.
