Asteroid Field map?
Added 2022-05-03 22:08:40 +0000 UTCWhile working on new biomes layout for this month - an idea came to my mind. It's something that would be potentially cool and interesting, providing a widely different gameplay than usually - but also something that I think is rather controversial. I would like to ask you about your opinions on that.
It's not something for now, maybe something for the future this year or possibly a next month, if you find the idea interesting. The idea was to create a space map pack with a section of the asteroid belt. It would consist of rocks floating in space, separated from each other on a space background. The idea would be, to use the low gravity to jump between asteroids / small landmasses floating on the void
I think that there is a potential here and the space theme itself haven't really been touched yet. On the other hand, there are also limiations. There isn't really a good way to show a battlefield like that in all dimensions, it would need to be 2d. In result it would look more like rocky islands floating in space. Also, from a gameplay point of view it would probably require some additional/advanced rules. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.
