An incredible act of kindness

Declan here,

Over the last 3 years (wow!) we've received many touching messages and  comments letting us know how much our project has meant to our listeners and supporters, a lot of which I've kept pinned to a board beside my desk.

Last week, on behalf of the entire team, I received the most sincere and heartfelt thank you that we (or I) have ever received.

Over the years I accumulated a box full of shiny accolades and gilded certificates from my previous career, but none of it compares to this.

I'd like to share the letter that accompanied this beautiful art with all of you,

 Hello everyone,

None of you may know me, but that’s okay, I know almost all of you wouldn’t know anyway. For starters, my name’s Jesus, and I’m the one who sent PonyASMR’s personal commission to its founder, Declan.    The reason I did is because I’ve always known about ASMR for many years now and I tend to enjoy listening to them late at night. It wasn’t until I discovered that there’s a ASMR project dedicated to MLP that really took my interest, since the show is important to me and I’ll get into more detail near the end.

When I first discovered this group, as well as its founder, there was something about it that I really enjoyed as I eventually became a Patron of theirs on their Patreon page and been one ever since. Now, onto the commission. Back in August of 2017, I was honored to finally be able to attend BronyCon for the first time after being a Brony since Summer of 2014.

During the convention, I went out of my own way to get a special commission done for the group, as it came out perfectly.    Now, I could have easily stopped right there but, my generosity got the best of me as two months later, I attended Nightmare Nights in Dallas (R.I.P) for its final year as Andrea Libman was one of the ‘Guests of Honor’ attending.    So, I waited in line for roughly two hours, just so that she was able to sign it, to finally make it complete. Basically, not only is it a commission of Fluttershy (PonyASMR’s representative) specifically meant for the project, it was signed by Andrea Libman (VA of both Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie) herself, making it a one of a kind. This special artwork right here certainly had a long journey to where it currently resides. Originating from BronyCon 2017 in Baltimore, Maryland, as I brought it back home with me to Texas.

Then, taking it with me again to Dallas to have Andrea Libman sign it, bringing it back home again all while making sure the commission was safe. It wasn’t until I finally got it laminated soon after that my worries about it disappeared as it was safe and preserved, forever.     This has truly been one of the nicest things I’ve done for people I’ve never met before as I know they’re certainly going to enjoy it. Finally, a little bit about me and where I’ve been from before I became a Brony, to where I currently am, and why this show means so much for me.

Growing up, I hardly had any friends. I was mainly a lone wolf throughout my years in school. It didn’t help I’ve also been dealing with shyness and social anxiety at such a young age as well.   It wasn’t until High School where things started to get worse for me. I think of those four years as the worst times for me.   That’s when Depression decided to creep on in as I’ve been dealing with it since I was a Sophomore. This Summer will be a year since I’ve graduated but, I can still remember how bad it got during those four years. I’d tend to cry a lot, lacked energy/motivation, got angry easily and eventually, suicidal/homicidal thoughts started to come to mind.    I kept thinking that I’d never get through High School, and that what was the point anymore? It wasn’t until I found MLP right after my Freshman year that gave me enough hope to keep going and not giving up.

Discoveringiscovrig the show couldn’t have been at a perfect moment because that same year was the one I was diagnosed with MDD (Major Depressant Disorder) as Equestria and its inhabitantsabitans have been acting like a natural antidepressant to me ever since. Since then, I managed to graduate High School as I’ve been working on to hoping to serve my country someday in the Military. Until then, I’ll be continuing to enjoy life as much as possible, all while taking care of my good friend who I saved from suicide and keep a close eye on her.

In conclusion, I love this fandom and hope it continues years from now when the show ends someday.

This is Jesus, signing off, and thank you for everyone who reached this point. /)

I honestly cannot express how much this means to us, I don't hang a lot on my walls, but this will always have a place, and I hope that I can make high quality prints for everyone on the team.

From the entire PonyASMR Project, thank you so much!

Let me take a moment aside from expressing how awesome and true this is, and say that word error should be a hashtag. #Discoveryiscovering
