お待たせしました！
２０１９年の９月末から１０月までのポルトガルのリスボン旅行合わせて２週間、まだ暑いですがピークは過ぎたあたりの旅行プランにしました。
はじめに寄った３泊リスボン編はまた後にしますが、モロッコ旅行全体は大まかに以下のような感じでした。
１～３日目 フェズ旧市街からシェフシャウエンへ長距離バス移動、観光のちフェズへ戻る。
４～６日目 ２泊三日のサハラ砂漠ツアーへ。サハラ砂漠、メルズーカ、ワルザザードを経由して南のマラケシュへ到着
７日目 マラケシュ観光
８日目 カサブランカ観光
９～１１日目 ラバト観光
といった感じでぐるっと一周するような流れですが、前半は６日目までのマラケシュ到着までです。
初めてのアフリカ大陸、イスラム圏の旅行になったのですが、これはまたヨーロッパ旅行とは違う刺激ばかりでのちにかなりの虜になってしまった旅行でありました。
アフリカの旅行といってもモロッコは治安が良い方で、日本人女性一人旅または２人旅、カップルという人もたびたび見ました。
特にシェフシャウエンはいわゆるインスタ映えでも有名な青い街なのでフェズからの長距離バスへは多かったですね。（もちろん警戒したほうが良いことも自身にありましたので後ほど書いておきたいと思います）
１日目 フェズ到着、旧市街散策とフェズの宿
フェズには新市街と旧市街がありますが、観光地になるのは基本旧市街です。狭い通路にたくさんのお店や宿が入り乱れていてこれぞ旧市街って感じが味わえます。
朝から晩まで人は多いので散策を楽しめます。
フェズに来る方は朝シェフシャウエン行きの方が多いと思いますので、そういう方は前の日に入って旧市街をちょっと外れた大きなCTMバスステーションの位置を把握しておくことと、予約チケット交換をしておくことをお勧めします。
（ややこしいですが昼発は新市街からになりますので全く場所が違います！（２０１９年の話ですが））
人気なので１週間前には予約必須です。当日にCTMチケットは難しいでしょう。
旧市街の壁を出てちょっと歩いたところにあります。
（このバス停で日本人カップルにあってちょっと意気投合することになります。初旅行がこのモロッコという猛者）
次の日の朝から長距離バスに休憩込みで約５時間くらいだったかと思いますがシェフシャウエン到着！
着くのはちょっと離れたバス停なのでそこからタクシー移動なのですがこれがまた法外な値段のタクシー勧誘がしつこいです！（100DHって言われたかな？帰りは１人で10DHで着きました。１０倍！）
前述の２人と一緒に行動していたので断り入れて道を走っているタクシーを捕まえるとチクショウって具合に去っていきました。（３人４０DHで妥協）
シェフシャウエンは青い街で有名な観光地です。
きれいな洋服を着て写真と撮ってるアジア系の女性もたくさんいたのが印象的です。
離れた丘から一望できますのでこの景色も良い！
猫もたくさんいます。（イスラム圏には大体どこにでもねこはいます よろしくお願いします）
観光地なのでお店も多く、歩き回れる距離で一泊にちょうどいい広さの観光地です。
いろいろ売ってますし、今思うと観光地の割に親切に安めに感じました。アクセスの悪い観光地ほど割と親切な値段かもしれません。
一泊してあっという間にお昼からCTMバスに乗ってフェズへ戻りました。
宿は同じでAirbnbで予約したところです。
ドミトリーですが貸し切り状態、雰囲気も良くてかわいい猫もいてとても快適だったのですが、部屋に鍵がないタイプでした（写真の奥が部屋）。私は大丈夫でしたが管理人の知り合いなどは出入りするので女性は部屋の鍵は予約時先に確認したほうが良いです！
こいつらと二泊。
さて次の日の朝からこの度の本目的サハラ砂漠へ出発します。
車で朝から夕方までの長旅ですが途中いくつかのポイントに泊まります。
野生の猿が見れる森のエリア、昼飯レストラン、森の渓谷が見れる謎のお土産屋さんなど。
モロッコというかアフリカはとにかく広大というのが伝わってくるかのように礫砂漠のような場所が続いています。
遠くにはアトラス山脈が見えていたりしますが、それも遠ざかりいよいよ砂ばかりで黄色い大地になっていきますと砂漠が近づいているのを感じることができます。
このツアーの見どころの一つに「夕日の砂漠で写真が撮れる」というものなんですが、私たちは本当にぎりぎりというか着いた瞬間に無理やりラクダに乗せられて「はい撮れた！」位に切羽詰まっていて実質間に合ってませんでした（笑）
（ラクダに乗るポイントはまだ砂漠じゃないので。）
そこから移動して夕焼けの砂漠をラクダでキャンプまで移動します。
ラクダは貴重な機会なのでとても楽しめますが乗り心地は全くいいものではありませんでした（笑）
すぐお尻が痛くなりますし、特に乗るときのラクダの立ち上がる勢いは相当で、タイミングがずれて足をかけたときに吹き飛ばされて怪我もしましたので注意！
（なんでかこの旅はこけたり怪我が多くて同行メンバーに心配されまくりました）
このあたりのガイドの方はベルベル人で砂漠の遊牧民、行商人の人々です。様々なベルベル民族がいるようですがアラブ系が多く必ずしもイスラム教徒というわけでもないのでまた違った文化があります。
テントでは別グループと一緒に彼らと演奏、踊りを楽しんだり、深夜に近くなると少し離れた場所に案内してもらって夜空の星を楽しませてもらいました。

ガイドさんのターバンは数メートルにもなり、砂の上に敷いてシートにもなり、日中は涼しい日よけにもオシャレにもなる。その便利さを思い知ったのを思い出します。
非常～に簡易なシャワー、トイレありのテントで一泊して次の日の朝は日の出チャンスです。
ラクダを率いるワンコとともに帰り道。
少しだけ大気にガスが多くてクリアとはいえなかったですが、目的はここだったのでもう感無量でした。
旅の中でも忘れられない体験の一つです。
ラクダの搭乗ポイントに戻ったら砂漠の玄関口であるメルズーカとワルザザードを経由し、南の都市マラケシュへ向かいます。
メルズーカで印象的だったのはユダヤ教徒、イスラム教徒もまたそれ以外であっても生活している中で、「見える化」する文化が古くからあるようで、服の身に着け方、家の門に描かれた点の数などで話しかけずとも宗教や身の上がわかるようにしているという説明があったことで、必要以上の干渉を避ける心がけがあるんだなと感じたことでした。
砂漠をこれから渡る人、または渡ってきた多くの人々が行きかった場所ならではなのかなと。
次のワルザザードは映画やドラマの有名な撮影地であり、２０１９年ではそれこそ「ゲームオブスローンズ」の撮影地として取り上げられてました！
大きく干上がった川沿いに砦のように立つ街。
確か竜の女王カリーシが奴隷を解放した街、というと思い出せる人は結構いますかね？
あまり考えずにツアーで来たのでああ、あそこか！って一人盛り上がってました（笑）
一行が着いて、セルフツアーといわれて降りたはいいものの、いかにも待っていたよ！と言わんばかりの偽のガイドにつかまってひと悶着あったのですが、そこそこ観光も楽しみました。
（きちんとツアー内容や説明を確認しておきましょう。このツアーはドライバー同伴の２泊３日で説明してくれますが、騙す人は結構巧みにつけ入ってきますので、ドライバーが直接紹介してくれた人以外には付いていかないこと！）
最後にホテルで一泊したホテルではプール付きだったので数人でちょっと寒いながら楽しんで（１０月始め）マラケシュに向かいました。
思い出すだけでももっといろいろありましたがこれで前半のシェフシャウエン、サハラ編は終わりです！
このサハラ砂漠ツアーであった一行の皆はその場で集まったにもかかわらず短いながら濃い旅仲間として忘れられないですね～。

Our second collection of photos is on Morocco!
Lisbon, Portugal trip from the end of September to October 2019, 2 combined I decided on a travel plan for a total of 2 weeks, still hot but past the peak of the season.
I'll come back to the 3-night Lisbon section later where we stopped at the beginning, but the entire Morocco trip was roughly as follows.
Days 1-3: Long bus ride from Fez Old City to Chefchaouen, sightseeing, then back to Fez.
Days 4-6: 3-day/2-night Sahara Desert tour. Arrive in Marrakech via the Sahara, Merzouka, and Ouarzazate in the south.
Day 7 Marrakech sightseeing
Day 8 Casablanca sightseeing
Day 9-11 Sightseeing in Rabat
The first half of the trip is until the arrival in Marrakech up to day 6, although the flow is like going around in a circle.
This was my first trip to the African continent and the Muslim world, and it was a trip that I later became quite captivated by because it was so different and exciting from traveling in Europe.
Even though I was traveling in Africa, Morocco is a safe country, and I often saw Japanese women traveling alone or in pairs, or even in couples.
Especially, Chefchaouen is a famous blue town in Morocco, so there were many Japanese women traveling by long-distance bus from Fez. (Of course, there were some things to be careful about, which I will write about later.)
Day 1: Arrival in Fez, walking around the old city, and lodging in Fez
There are two parts in Fez, the New Town and the Old Town, but it is basically the Old Town that is the tourist attraction. The Old Town is the most touristy part of the city, with many stores and inns crammed into its narrow streets.
You can enjoy strolling around the old town because there are many people from morning to night.
Many visitors to Fez will be going to Chefchaouen in the morning, so we recommend that you go in the day before to get a good idea of the location of the big CTM bus station just outside the old town and exchange your reservation ticket.
(It's complicated, but the noon departure will be from the New Town, which is a completely different location! (This is in 2019))
Reservations are required a week in advance because of its popularity. It will be difficult to get CTM tickets on the same day.
It is a short walk out of the old town wall.
(I met a Japanese couple at this bus stop and we hit it off a bit. They are a fierce couple whose first trip was to Morocco).
The next morning, we took a long-distance bus to Chefchaouen, which took about 5 hours including breaks.
We arrived at a bus stop a little bit far from the city, so we had to take a cab from there, but the cab drivers were very insistent with their outrageous prices! （I was asked to pay 100DH for a taxi. (I got there for 10 DH on the way back alone...10 times more!)
(I was with the aforementioned two people, so I refused and caught a cab on the road, and it went away like a son of a bitch. (We compromised with 40 DH for three people.)
Chefchaouen is a famous tourist destination for its blue streets.
It was impressive to see many Asian women in beautiful clothes taking pictures.
The view from the remote hill is also nice!
There are also many cats. (There are cats almost everywhere in the Muslim world.)
Since it is a tourist area, there are many stores and it is a good size tourist area for one night within walking distance.
There are a lot of things for sale, and now that I think about it, I felt it was kind of cheap for a tourist area. The more inaccessible tourist attractions may be more friendly and inexpensive.
I stayed one night and returned to Fez by CTM bus from noon in no time.
We stayed at the same place we booked through Airbnb.
It was a dormitory, but it was rented out, had a nice atmosphere and a cute cat, and was very comfortable, but the room was the type without a key (the room is at the back of the picture). I was fine, but the manager's acquaintances come and go, so women should check the room key before making a reservation!

The next morning, I left for the Sahara Desert, the main purpose of my stay.
It is a long trip by car from morning to evening, but we will stay at several points along the way.
There is a forest area where we can see wild monkeys, a restaurant for lunch, and a mysterious souvenir shop where we can see a forest canyon.
The area is like a gravel desert, as if to convey that Morocco, or rather Africa, is vast.
In the distance you can see the Atlas Mountains, but as they move away and the land finally turns yellow with nothing but sand, you can feel that the desert is getting closer.
One of the highlights of this tour is the opportunity to take pictures in the desert at sunset. We were so pressed that we didn't make it in time (laugh).

(The camel ride point is not in the desert yet.) From there, we moved on and rode camels through the desert at sunset to the camp.
The camel ride is a rare opportunity and very enjoyable, but the ride is not at all comfortable (laugh).
Your buttocks will get sore soon, and especially when you ride, the camel will stand up so fast that if you put your foot on the wrong place at the wrong time, you will be blown away and injured.
(I don't know why I had so many falls and injuries on this trip, and my companions were worried about me a lot.)
The guides in this area are Berbers, desert nomads and peddlers. There seem to be various Berber ethnic groups, but most of them are Arabs and some are not only Muslims, so they have a bit different culture.
In the tents, we enjoyed playing and dancing with another group, and when it was close to midnight, we were guided to a place a little further away to enjoy the stars in the night sky.
(I also recorded some photos of the night sky by trying my hand at long exposures, despite my ineptitude).
Our guide's turban was several meters long, and could be laid out on the sand to form a sheet, or used as a cool sunshade and a fashionable accessory during the day. I remember how useful it was.
We stayed overnight in a tent with a very ~very~ simple shower and toilet, and the next morning we had a chance for sunrise.

The atmosphere was a bit gassy and not so clear, but we were already very emotional because this was our goal.
It was one of the most unforgettable experiences of the trip.
After returning to the camel boarding point, we headed to the southern city of Marrakech via Merzouka and Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert.
In Merzouka, I was impressed by the explanation that Jews, Muslims, and others seem to have a long-standing culture of "visualization" in their daily lives, and that people can tell their religion and personal status by the way they wear their clothes, the number of dots painted on their house gates, and so on, without being spoken to, and that they try to avoid interfering more than necessary.
I felt that this is only possible in a place where many people who will cross the desert or who have crossed the desert have crossed the desert.
Next, Ouarzazate is a famous filming location for movies and dramas, and in 2019, it was featured as the filming location for "Game of Thrones!"
The city stands like a fortress along a large dried up river.
I'm sure many of you can remember it as the city where Khaleesi, the dragon queen, freed the slaves.
I came here on a tour without thinking much about it. I was so excited to be there!
When the group arrived, we were told that it was a self guided tour, but we got caught by a fake guide who said he had been waiting for us, and we had a bit of an argument.
(Be sure to check the contents and explanation of the tour.)
Finally, we spent one night in a hotel, which had a pool, so a few of us enjoyed it, albeit a bit chilly (early October), and then headed to Marrakech.
There are many more things I can recall, but this concludes the first half of the Chefchaouen and Sahara tour!
I will never forget the group of people I met on this Sahara Desert tour, even though we met on the spot, as a short but strong group of travel companions!
