(Mini Review!) ChipChipCustoms - Muse

ChipChipCustoms! I’ve been wanting to take a look at these guys for a hot minute now! 

Printing custom figs from “Down Undah!”, this new Aussie brand have joined the scene very strong! While this fig isn’t their first release or their most recent, I’ve had this one on standby waiting for Jaka’s Daredevil to eventually arrive! (see yesterday’s post to read all about my woes 🙄)

So now finally here we are!

If I wasn’t so entrenched with this hobby… like if I truly had no idea that custom minifigs were a thing, you’d probably be able to convince me this is an actual “Official Lego” minifig.

Honestly, it looks great (maybe even better given Lego’s own dip in quality these last few years)! The design isn’t too over the top or spooky. It’s got that perfect balance of “accurate source material” to “kid friendly”. The latter of which this character is anything but child appropriate!

BUT! ChipChip still nailed that aesthetic perfectly! How impressive is that! 🤣

Part of me wishes they would have broken out of the mold juuuuust a little,  and given us full wraparound print for the gloves and high waisted pants. But everything else about this fella is just great!

It also would've been nice to have gotten some accessories, like a knife or something at the very least! Heck, a spray can or even his freaky tattoo gun thing would have been cool too! But from what I understand ChipChip hasn’t dived into custom molded elements at the time of writing this review.

At the end of the day (brace yourselves folks) I’m super SUPER impressed to say this fig cost me less than the shipping price to get him here! 

ChipChipCustom’s Muse only cost me $20 bucks! That’s WILD in today’s age of custom minifigs! How amazing is that! 

ChipChip also sent these figs out to resellers before launching any sales listings. Meaning they were indeed actually ready-to-ship products upon launch!

I’m looking at you Jaka 😑

Honestly I couldn’t be happier! Well done mates! Can’t wait to see which ChipChip fig I pick up next!
