As they trekked through the fields, the adventurers kept a vigilant watch for any potential threats lurking among the crops. The tall corn stalks provided ample concealment for those who wished to remain unseen, and the group knew they had to proceed with caution.
Despite the dangers, the group pressed on, the warm sun on their backs and the rustling of the corn providing a soothing background noise. The town they were searching for was now almost visible on the horizon, and their spirits lifted at the thought of reaching safety before nightfall.
But as the sun began to set, the pace quickened. The breeze shifted direction, blowing the stalks of corn with increasing urgency and carrying with it strange, unsettling sounds from the approaching darkness. With weapons at the ready, the group had little choice but to continue forward, bracing for any potential encounters.
